This was the best thing to watch with all the covid 19 stress (it’s the best thing to watch any kind of stress, period.) It’s a soothing balm for the soul. It’s just soothing to see complex, well written characters be actually good for once. It’s wholesome, heartwarming and hopeful. It’s like they found all the ingredients for making people happy and poured it all in here. It doesn’t have a central plot. It’s a well written character drama that is more slice of life. I adore how realistic this drama is in regards to the medical profession and everyday life. And, as a medical student, it’s already making me miss my friends and feel nostalgic about med school(even though I haven’t graduated yet). Imagine the most comfortable, comforting thing after a long tiring day( a cup of hot chocolate, a warm hug from a loved one, your favourite blanket)...that ‘thing’ is this drama. If you want something that makes you happy and warm all over, then this is the drama for you.
You must be some kind of journalist or something, your posts are generally thoughtful, well researched, and sufficiently…
I just started hospital playlist, and it’s shaping up to be the most wholesome thing I watch this year. The friendship of the main characters could give me cavities from how sweet it is and I would welcome it. It’s a character driven drama, and imo character driven stories are always the best. Because if you can make people care about your characters, then they will probably be willing to stick through anything. Strong, well written characters don’t need exciting, fast paced plots. They are capable of keeping the viewers’ interest even if the show is a slice of life with little plot progression. Judging from people’s complaints, the characters of TKEM seem to be a little lacking.
I find him extremely refreshing. He seems to be one of the few Korean celebrities who actually speak their minds, instead of having the usual inoffensive/perfect/polished image that Korea seems to want it’s celebrities to convey. Plus, his talent for acting is undeniable. He deserves all the acclaim he gets and more.
When I read the description, I knew it would be my kind of movie. And I was right! I thoroughly enjoyed Default. It’s educational and engaging at the same time, and reminds us about the ramifications of economic crises(especially in light of recent times). I thought the pacing was excellent, and there was never a dull moment for me. Granted, I do wish they had explained slightly more about the actual economic crises, but maybe it was better that the movie was so emotionally charged. It’s hard to not empathise with the working class, who are often the hardest hit in any kind of crisis.
The actors are great, the characters are lovable, but the movie as a whole was underwhelming to me. After hearing all the praises, my expectations were really high. But I just could not get into the movie. It’s good, but that’s it. Worth a watch though. It’s pretty entertaining.
a show about parallel worlds, time-freeze and time-travel sure sounds sci-fi to me
I suppose it can be called sci-fi then. It’s just that it seems to not exactly have the best execution from whatever I’ve watched/read in the comments. When people say sci-fi, I expect something like starship troopers(the novel, not the movie) or Star Trek. How well done are the sci-fi elements? Honest question. I just started watching the show, but I’m thinking of putting it on hold because I’m planning to binge it later.
This is such a solid show with very few misses. I especially adore the 1930s storyline (but then again, I’m weak for period dramas. There’s something about that time period that makes me highly sentimental). I want the kind of friendship the 3 main characters have, the kind of friendship that lasts multiple lifetimes. The soundtrack and the way the songs blend seamlessly into the scenes *chef’s kiss*. The whole story is dreamy and nostalgic. It’s a bit slow at first, but stick with it. It’s worth it.
So far I see the same people in the comments spreading hate CONSTANTLY..... like... if you dislike the drama so…
Lee Minho is a good actor, but he does play the same kind of roles. When people say he shouldn’t, they’re not saying he should be cast as a 2nd lead or as a villain( and why shouldn’t he be cast as a villain? Sometimes villains are the most memorable. Personally,I would love to see him take on a villain role). There are lead roles different from the same, rich privileged guy that he usually does. I wish he would have a little bit more variety in his work, have more versatility in his roles. Heck! Cast him in a serious crime drama or a psychological thriller or something. It’s hard to show off how good of an actor you are if all the roles you take are similar.
I’m on episode 11(binged it all day), and the story is gripping. Seok Dong Chul is a character that’s impossible to dislike. It’s like the character was made for people to love. And Woo Do Hwan of course portrays him to perfection. Seriously! This man is such a good actor. I don’t really think there are any weak links in the rest of the cast either, though I feel like punching 90% of the characters. I’ll continue to watch. I hope things get resolved in a satisfactory manner.
It’s wholesome, heartwarming and hopeful.
