A different take on the ending: The last minutes of the final episode show the ML wearing a suit and has just arrived in the present day. He suddenly notices a corner with boxes, several cats, and a crying baby in a pink outfit that appears to have been abandoned.
Many have immediately decided that means the FL has reincarnated as a human baby and make the additional leap that the ML will "have to raise her" and that gives them pedo vibes (understandbly so).
HOWEVER, and I rewound it and paused it several times to make sure of this: he hears the baby, sees the cats, but the camera shows him looking closely at each cat with his eyes, but does not even give the baby a glance. It appeared to me that he was looking at each cat, looking for his cat girl, and once his eyes landed on the third cat, he looked at the red string bracelet he was still wearing, seemed happy, and then remembered his times with her as a cat in his time period. It took this to mean that he found his CAT. The baby just also happened to be there (which is weird but is far less weird than him becoming her father figure).
I just completed this drama last night and I have a bit different take on the ending. Overall, the drama was mostly cute with decent acting, but the budget appeared low for special effects and costumes (even though some costumes were nice, lots of pins showing in wigs etc and splotchy makeup though). The ending pulled my rating down further, but I think anyone wanting a different interpretation of the ending might want to read my take on it (which I will add as a reply to this post with a spoiler tag).
I'm watching project 7 too! Are bae173 members in this show as well?
Their agency sent half of the members of BAE173 to Starlight Boys and the other half to Project 7. They also sent half of the members of their other group, Fantasy Boys, with 2 going to Project 7 and 3 to to Starlight Boys.
Is this good? Any boring cliches? How's the relationship dynamic?
Skinship fans should be very happy. Whenever you start to roll your eyes and think "oh no, here comes this annoying trope...." they actually tackle it really well, usually realistically, without a lot of unneeded cringe/drama and problems are solved fairly quickly. Even the characters who you would usually think are going to be super evil are portrayed far more realistically that in most dramas.
hey guys :) how is this drama? do you recommend it?
Miles Wei's character (the ML) is a bright green flag and his acting is always excellent and very nuanced. The actress playing the FL is also doing a good job acting, although I don't know how I feel about her character so far. It is enjoyable and better than a lot of the similar cdramas that fit this trope, mainly because of the acting. The story is not anything earth shattering, but a good version of what it is.
minjae, jia hao and takuma deserved to debut in my opinion but so did everyone in the final lineup
I agree that all of the finalists were talented enough to debut, I am not unhappy with the debut group members who got selected at all. There were simply no bad finalists for this show, which made it harder to see so much talent not end up in the group. They could gather up all of the finalists that got cut and make another entire group easily.
How terrible was it for them to announce the "non-debut" lineup first? Like wtf?!! So we had to sit there and…
I agree! It was incredibly cruel and took away a lot of the joy for the contestants who did make the final group, as seen on their crying faces (not tears of joy).
I translated this poster with the help of Google lens and it just says "stay tuned" and never says that those…
At the top of the poster it also says Tencent July Drama List. That seems to indicate that they plan to premiere all of them during July, but only some of them have firm dates announced so far.
Well it passed the censors twice already. Not sure what held it back after it initially passed review in 2023, but they obviously decided to change something and resubmit it this year. Now hopefully it will actually air. The censor rules seem to change frequently, so who knows. But whatever they changed did get it passed again in 2024, so I really hope it airs soon.
I had to stop and take a break around ep 20. I still want to continue, as unlike many here, I have been enjoying…
I know! It sucks. His character is supposed to return though - which is a good thing as the whole reason I was watching in the first place is because I love his acting. The memory loss stuff really, truly sucks.

Miles Wei's character. From the comments here, it sound like I won't have to wait long for his return. Yep, 3 years time skip with an amnesia arc continuing.

Memory loss and a 3 year time skip, they sent away my favorite character before the time skip and so far he's not back, new characters introduced, more mediocre villains added. I got through episode 21 and I am exhausted. Even so, I still want to keep going. It isn't terrible, but it is stumbling a bit.
Part of your confusion may be from the race in the first episode. The labels on the runners shirts, as well as…
You're welcome. I was concerned at first also. I haven't finished the drama yet, but so far there hasn't been anything creepy. The ML has a crush on her, but both are more focused on getting him trained and accepted on the team. She is a TA (teacher's assistant aka student teacher) for one of his classes and agrees to coach him when none of the actual full coaches will accept him. So there is a bit of a mentor type relationship, but she is not in control of his grades.
