Title Where Does the Sea Begin Spoiler
It irritates me so much seeing how Natsu is clearly moved on but is now gotta live day by day in memories of Mizuki along side with Umi. I don’t blame the kid but the grandparents is damn annoying to push this on him: “please think about her” “put yourself in my shoe”

This drama is clearly a horror drama, where the main character get manipulated to remember and imagining about a dead person every day (last time he saw her was 8 years ago). The writer might as well add her back as a ghost so that they can force him to perform a ghost marriage.

I didn’t really feel the plot in the first 3 episodes but stayed for the cute father-daughter moments. However, episode 4 was excellent and heartbreaking. Yayoi is such a relatable character for people who lacks support system in their lives.

Title Where Does the Sea Begin Spoiler
I have a curiosity. Are Japanese couples so “cold” to eachother in general? There’s barely any skinship…
I think it’s the writer’s choice, in her other work “silent” (also starring Meguro Ren), the female lead and her current bf also didn’t feel like a couple. I think she’s trying to demonstrating that Natsu and Momose still have a lot of distance because of their past. After the talk, Natsu and Momose looks more fond of each other and their interaction seems much sweeter. I think there will be more sweet moments later on like in the trailer they sit together and Momose teaching Natsu how to braid a girl’s hair.

Ep 6 was very cute, but it make me feel a little frustrated, I think it's because Aoki Sota, I feel that is acting…
A lot of Japanese dramas have this type of exaggerated acting. It’s mostly based on the genre of the drama, bc this is a comedy/teen romance, therefore it’s always focused to push to exaggeration. The manga is extremely comedic with Aoki making tons of ugly faces, he is a weirdo which explain why he is not confident abt himself, I think the drama does a good job of that. The actor of Aoki is Michieda Shunsuke, who is an idol and child-actor, he did great in acting in other dramas and movies (ig the realistic acting that u want) so I definitely he know what he’s doing.

Title My Love Mix-Up! Spoiler
Oh no they break up in the manga that makes me sad. I don't want to see that. Do they get back together? I really…
Aoki is not ready for them to to come out yet. It take a lot time to be confident when it comes to announce ur sexuality. Plus, he was scared that Ida would go through a hard life once everyone know their relationship so he blurted out to break up with Ida. But they make up very soon, Ida is patient with Aoki.

Little question for people who have read the book (please put it as spoiler in case other don’t want to know).…
They only stay together as Crown Prince and Crown Prince’s Consort. In the end, she died before he becomes king. In the epilogue, 30 years later, ML is the king. And only accept FL as his queen, believing that she’s not dead.

Title Good Bye, My Princess Spoiler
I need a little help with a line of dialogue in episode 10. When Li Cheng Yin asks "do you think we did wrong",…
I think the translation is a lil off. Gu Jian specifically said: “If we went back and start everything again, it wouldn’t have been this wrong.” This means: If they ever have a second chance to start everything again, they wouldn’t use her. And therefore such disaster wouldn’t happens.
The two guys never really consider abt XF when they did their mission. Only when she ultimately broke down, they then realize that they had wronged her deeply.

Title Good Bye, My Princess Spoiler
Is everyone convinced that the ending will follow the book? Maybe I am delusional but I feel like the writers…
Everyone have the right to point out their thoughts. If you want a HE, then hold onto it til the end. Just hope that you wouldn’t be too heartbroken when the drama ends.
For me, the way how they justify his actions make his character more complex and well depth. They want us to see a growth of desire for power. However justifying his actions doesn’t make up for the fact that he killed innocent people and also hurt the FL. Since this novel is way too famous, the ending of it is one of most important element of the story, changing it would cause huge outrage towards fans.

wait everyone besides xiao feng and xiao wu remembers what happened right and the story is continuing not starting…
‘Untouchable Lovers’ plagiarized the plot of the novel “东宫”. The original novel of Untouchable Lovers is nowhere near the drama. The director, himself was known for always copying others works without permission.

“Goodbye My Princess” is directly and rightfully adaption of 东宫.

Xiao Feng and Li Chengyin both jumped into the River Of Forgetfulness, they had lost their memories. Xiao Feng is still the Ninth Princess of Xi Liang, she still needs to marry into Li Dynasty. If people let her know that her country is doomed and her mother is dead, she wouldn’t follow their commands. Therefore, for the good sake of everything, people around them pretending like nothing happens. Even A’ Du.

Serious, I don’t know why people is giving up such a meaningful drama just because of the ending. Sometimes, there is no other choice. This drama is realistic in a way that portrait the characters’ feelings and growth, also the consequences of their actions.

For those who don’t know, this drama right now is trending all over China’s social media, people is DEMANDING FOR A SAD ENDING. Because there’s no way the female and male lead can ever be happy together, they were never meant to be. They’re an ill-fated couple, the ending is the best solution to all their misery.

Overall, let’s focus more into the plot. The drama’s pace is fast and smooth, there’s a lot of interesting things. The OST of this drama is as good as “Ashes of Love” and “Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms”. Acting is decent and acceptable. You will get to see interesting cultural details of tribes.
As a reader of the original novel, 东宫, this adaptation is worthy to watch. The novel was part of my youth, I read it during middle school, now watching this drama, I still cry like those nights when I read the book.
Give it a try, HE or SE doesn’t matter, what matters is the message of the story.
