Over promising
I started this drama uneducated about its manhwa version but with hopes and excitement without fearing or caring for the fans’ complaints about the cast. The synopsis was looking fun and engaging, the kind of light story full laughters. I was happy with the cast as I have seen many dramas with both of them. They always delivers solid quality acting but never really bad or extraordinary neither.
The first episode was somehow ok, not strong enough to start a serial but we all know that Kdramas don’t work with the pilot model where the first episode is craft to the perfection by going through rounds of approval, testings, viewers’s reviews, reshooting, recasting….
But after finishing painfully the drama in 3 gos. First one I watched the 4 first episodes and then a few weeks later the next 4 and I came back went the drama was over to watch the last 2. Unfortunately the first episode was the best.
Most scenes take place in the office where they are focused on making beer…which for me it’s such poor taste mixed with a pregnancy story. But God knows how much money those beers brands can pull of. Very fast the show lost the promise and went to a boring office romance with an evil character. The kind of story we have already seen too often. They also threw a love triangle, a cliche trauma and a pathetic evil sister in law. The story ends well but leaves you under whelmed as there isn’t one memorable moment worth watching.
All characters are under-developed, the story felt empty and bland.
So if you want a nice drama with mature love this isn’t the right pick as they just behave like 20 something.
If you want a story about unplanned pregnancy it isn’t the right pick either as after episode 3 that pregnancy is basically a very far subplot.
If you craving for an epic love story it ain’t the right one there isn’t any depth or amazing chemistry.
This drama has nothing special it was delivered without any care or ambition to say something about anything.

This spell did not work on me!!
That drama gave me mixed feelings.* Story: the storyline wasn’t very interesting. For me the writer made the mistake to start the show with the two leads doing bad stuff. They never gained my favors after that opening and I wasn’t invested on what was happening to them. Supporting cast weren’t helping as everybody was flawed. The story was messy. The end wasn’t very pleasant too and basically they finished exactly like they started, did they grow ? Did they gain a little bit of depth? Not sure.
There weren’t to me funny moments. The romance was not compelling. The business storyline was so predictable. Some choices in the events were very questionable. They apparently never heard about consent. What is the take away of that drama? 없요! How that script has been selected? 몰라!!!
* Photography: The colors weren’t appealing. They were sad and not lively. I had the strong feeling watching this that it wasn’t made in 2021. Nothing gave me 2021 vibe, the light design looked 2014-2018, the fashion looks 2016-2018, the music, the acting too. Did they had that thing in their drawers for years and released in 2021 because Lim Ji-Jeon and Sung Joon looked straight from High Society. Even Kim Yoon-hye at the beginning (hair salon scene) looked like before 18 again…
The actors weren’t bad but the story and the production were less than average. I came for the 2 leads and it looks like it’s the worth thing they ever made.
Nothing memorable. This doesn’t deserve to invest 16 hours of your life.

How much suffering can you self inflict
This drama was for sure uneven for me but still had a lot of charm. It started good, then it was slight boring and slow, then it was good again. I suffered with that young woman that couldn’t really move on and give up and I didn’t understand the male lead. But I am also conscious the story is her point of view. Even with the bias in mind I was definitely in favor of the other guy. He was perfect and assertive. The secondary couple was interesting, the woman had such compelling and hard background. The walks in Seoul were very nice. To me the actors did well, the issues are more related to the storyline and the pacing. I didn’t like the end because I wasn’t sure the male learnt the lesson. Did he?Shorter (like 12 episodes) more condensed it would have been a better drama. This deserves surely to be watch for the cast!!!

I hate sci-fi and action, but I love that drama. I have seen it 3 times already. You are never bored during that drama, the pace is fast, The acting is well delivered by most actors (2 cops are bad someone needs to explain why cops are pretty dumb in KDramas, they might hate them because of the corruption 😄).Was this review helpful to you?

Waste of time
This drama is definitely on my list of worst things I have ever watched on Netflix. I might give up definitely on Cdramas after that!First minutes I knew I was heading to the kind story I hate: stupid woman falling for the cold guy….why did I watched it until the end?!!!
She started by wearing a long white dress, put herself on the back of a bike to attend her first work interview (dream job). Immediately you know that she is a dumb dumb because who does that. So of course, she has an accident, her dress is ruined and she is late for the interview.
The story was bad, nothing was making any sense, the acting was so awful. A few examples
- the guy is supposed to be some kind of physics post-grad. I spent the entire thing asking myself what the hell is his physics field because they were 3 idiots in a lab with a professor fully dedicated to them. Optics and acoustics? Nuclear physics? Molecular physics/Quantum mechanics? Relativity? Mechanics?…They weren’t working on a publication but doing some random experiments. One day mixing chemicals, another watching stuff on a microscope … but every damn day wearing a lab coat. Lab coat isn’t needing is most physics fields. In physics you usually don’t play around chemicals. You can use microscopes like quantum microscopes but they seemed to have the regular stuff that you use in biology. But on the last episode I finally get a clue as his father said “measuring earth rotation” so it was probably quantum physics. I f**** hate physics so I will let experts judge if the crap they were doing make sense with quantum physics.
- she had an accounting degree and manage to obtain a training in an ad agency…and she is making some kind of poor flyer on photoshop. No ad agency is this world would hire a random girl to do that. They could have put her in planning, account management but no she had to be graphic designer. I laughed so hard when she made a tab to compare orange juices and they ended making a commercial that we can summarize by “the orange juice that gives energy to hackers”. In which world a brand wants to be that. And after the camera for the child pornographer lovers? I hope it was a translation mistake and they meant coding and not hacking. She ended leaving because they didn’t put her name on the campaigns. After mentioning Ogilvy they should have stop there. Such complete nonsense.
- one night they have 10 centimeters of snow but the next scene guys are playing basket outside in tee-shirt and trees are fully green. She was also in shorts regularly. And they stayed until the end like that with some wearing winter clothes, other summer they couldn’t decide if it was winter or summer.
- We established earlier the guy was a physics student he put in the freezer a snowman and the next day the snowman melt. Do we have to learn also basics about at which temperature water become snow too?
- Towards the end they decided to make him move to Germany but had two Americans girls. Maybe was to hard to find people mimicking German accent 🤣They entered in a church and decided to get married by an American priest. Scenarists must have confused Germany with Vegas because that is totally impossible in Germany. Marriages take place in city halls in and church wedding can take place after only after that but only the civic ceremony has a legal status.
I could could give so many more examples of the nonsense. How this thing can have be such a hype on social media and be rated 8.
- the emotions were all badly played. Nothing was remotely believable or compelling. One guy was so first degree but they kept trying to make him fun he was just pathetic.
I felt also very uncomfortable as the female lead was a caricature of a child (mannerisms, most of her clothes, her states) even though he was looking more like a teenager it still gave the 🤢
The conclusion was also so laughable the guy said before meeting her he had an IQ of 187 but since he knows her he has 87. Best hate declaration that you can make: thanks for making me stupid! 🤣🤣🤣

제 제일 좋아하는
I love this drama. Sincerely with all my heart. I have watched it numerous times with the same pleasure. Mostly everything is perfectly done, acted…this drama is fun, the romance is one of the best you can find, the story has so much depth, the acting is solid. I watch it like 6 times on Netflix, on Prime…OST is very great too.A drama on several major platforms it’s already a sign that the drama is widely watch, greatly liked and majorly rewatched.
I love the fact that every character is well though off and has enough development to make him/her relatable. No character is the typical cliche, usual kdrama human-being. No annoying and retrograde parents. No awful villain plotting. No stupid woman that cannot do anything properly. No toxic second male or female that annoying you until the end. Just beautiful friendships, normal family dynamics, normal work relationship…
It’s Kim Hye-young best work by far without any doubt. We haven’t had the opportunity to see Kim Jae-wook in romances as the lead, so grab this one if you like him. There is only one story at the end that wasn’t necessary to me but other than that overall it’s really really good from A to Z.
Everybody that knows about the scandalous adoption system in Korea after the war gonna be deeply engaged with this story…
To me it’s the most genuine adult love story in kdrama. He is strong when she needs support and she becomes the strong one when he crumbled. That’s a real couple!
Just speaking about it make me want to watch it again…but this time fully in Korean without subtitles!!!
If you are looking for a kdrama to start your journey in kdramaland: that’s a fantastic pick!

Don’t waste your time here
Don’t get fooled by the 2 little bits going around that gonna make you feel this drama is fun or a romance. This drama never started for me. I was waiting for 4/5 episodes to get something from this and nothing came out.
First acting: no awfully bad actors but no good acting either. Everybody here was so bland. The parts were cliches after cliches. There is no chemistry between anybody. I don’t know why I know Sun Hoon when I think about it seriously he has not done anything worthy. He needs to get counseling as he doesn’t how to pick up a part!
I also realized the lead female (Han Bo-Leum) was the mean woman in Homemade love story which made me lost already 50 hours of my life.
The storyline was missing some excitement. Very fast in I realized that I didn’t care what was going on, no character catch my eyes…none had a real development. It could have been a serious business drama but they didn’t work enough the topic to make it interesting or find a good angle. Using 5 technical words doesn’t make you an expert of anything and I did feel like the author knew nothing about the topic or not enough to find something appealing to tell. Everything going here you have already seen it in 50 dramas.
Music: there was not a remarkable OST.
Photography: it was not pretty. Colors were sad, pale and beige. It was missing some warmth (red) and at night some blues or purple. Even in 2013, photo was better on my dramas.
Set design: they didn’t try to impress us. It’s pretty crazy as the last offices looked like the ones in Kiss Sixth senses (the stairs were identical) but as the 💡 were bad one drama those’d offices were modern, trendy and here sad.
Romance: if you don’t want to write a romance, it’s fine with me, I don’t need romance everywhere so don’t do it but don’t write a poor thin one which doesn’t make sense.
To conclude this is a boring and none memorable drama, you might end up disappointed if you pick it for the love of video game, if you pick it hoping for a nice romance, if you are looking for a slice of life.

Overall I liked that drama and enjoyed watching it for the actors, the story, the music. One of 2024 best drama for sure and an international phenomenon. The lead couple had a nice chemistry, both of them were equally good. The secondary couple was adorably cute. There are a little bit of everything, funny moments, emotional… you go through some ups and highs several times. I hate love triangle and have a real challenge to understand people that can’t make up their mind and get rid of access luggage …but here it wasn’t dragged too much.
I have 2 issues, I feel like the cancer topic could have been better handled especially by the female’s lead mother who by the way was insufferable the whole thing. But problematic parents in kdrama could keep me awake for day if I start. By the way if you had a digestive cancer and your family decide to go get drunk after hearing the news trust me they are just morons!
My other beef is Jang Young-nam, since she bated Kim Bok Joo I am very uncomfortable around her but for sure they never tested her French before casting her because she obviously cannot pretend to speak it. She was just ridiculous during those scenes as she didn’t work her lines. it’s a pity as other Korean actresses can Hwang Seok-jeong, Moon Hee-kyung, Lee Mi-sook, Ye Ji-won…

Easy watch
If you have low expectations you might be into that kind of movies. It could had have some potential but they missed the mark. Surface-leveled movie without gravitas. So many things are missing. That movie lacks skills in script-writing, directing, acting…even the set design has nothing remarkable.
The acting sorry is merely there so poor…women and men equally. The story might have been written by 2 left feet. Nothing is deep enough to make it special, nothing is witted enough to make it fun. Did Sung Hoon lost himself ? because I cannot remember any good from him lately.
To wrap it up, if you have 2 hours to spend when you have an hungover on a rainy Sunday afternoon you can watch this.
If you are missing the late and beautiful Jeon Mi-seon it can be another reason to watch this one…but she has no lines

Easy watch
This drama is correct. It’s an easy watch kdrama. Short, entertaining, cute romance. But no depth neither on data privacy, on relationships, on harassment…They stay at the surface of everything. So don’t get your expectations too high because nothing is greatly executed. The techno part is badly written it could have been done better. This is only saved by the actors who are convincing and talented but the script and the production are weakWas this review helpful to you?

I was fooled by Netflix. The trailers made me felt that something exciting, sexy, forbidden and dangerous was gonna happen in that damn bank. But nothing!I never recovered of my disappointed expectations. They could have robbed that bank to make it at least interesting! But no!
The lead man was just a fool to stay focused on that woman! The lead female was annoying, I would put her on the top 5 of my most hated female leads. She did dirty to two men. She hated everybody, her parents and herself included. This drama was my 5th drama with that actress, I give 3 chances to anyone before coming to a conclusion…so now I can, without shame say that I don’t like her acting, I dislike everything she has done even in KDramas that I love (eg Don’t dare to dream). She cannot portrayed emotions correctly and fully, her face remains stiff with those moody lips whatever she has to play. Her pitch is also very high and childish. I even laughed when she was cast as Merteuil (cannot remember the Korean name they gave in that adaptation) in the Great Seductor as she has nothing to play such a part!!!
I hated the dirty trick they played on the viewers using the pretend hotel scene during the wedding as perpetual flashback…but this never happened!!!! I was screaming “why ????”
I was annoyed also by the fact that aside Moon Ga-young I liked the other actors and they played correctly but the story was so frustrating. I don’t mind a slow pace but here where they wanted to go wasn’t making sense. I have FMO but I dropped out after 14 episodes and didn’t even watch the last scene as I knew it would disappoint me.
I was frustrated because of the turn of each event in that drama, maybe I was too concerned and could stand seeing people making bad choices after bad choices.
If I had to give one good reason to watch this one: Keum Sae-rok (the other woman)!!!

A School Project
Seen it but we cannot rate and update.Unfortunately it’s a very bad, amateurish production. The story is simple : the new school girl felt for a classmate that is came back as the same time and they discovered they have been pen pals for years.
So many issues in all departments.
The Cinematography was bad. The colours were very strange, grayish and uneven we could see in one scene the switch of camera as they hadn’t the same quality. It was unstable and warbling. The angles weren’t all justified and some choices felt cheesy. Random close-ups, uncentered captures…
The editing didn’t really make sense. Some sequences felt like a music video clip. And time felt also like very conceptual. Some sequences literally look like PowerPoint animations.
Sound wasn’t great. The sound team didn’t think of micing the poor girl when she stand up on the front so her mic was visible.
The young woman cannot act. She needs to learn to control her facial muscles, she had some involuntary contractions on
the upper lips that made so many
emotions not genuine (nasal and
procerus muscles). But normally those contractions come when we are displeased so it didn’t make sense. She had some pronunciation
issues, surely due to an un-warmed mouth and her voices when she was
supposed to be mad was out of control
too. I cannot believe she wasn’t ask to do it again or why they picked up that take as that scene was
very bad. We can’t hear when a vocalist cannot hit the note with acting it’s the same, out of pitch is audible.
Brandon seemed to have opted for downplaying the emotions…I am central-European so I have a bias we are more comfortable with downplaying than overplaying. But he still lacked a bit of
energy. He wasn’t fully in control of his
body, sometimes the way he stood felt awkward (body wasn’t oriented to the girl when he was speaking and looking at her in the classroom towards the end, his feet were pointing at to the door…usually it means don’t care what you are saying, cannot wait to be out of that situation)
The biggest problem was with the writer the storyline was bad and cliché. It felt forced as if it was needed to put so many over-used storylines. Poor woman forced to be a star to save her family. The school contest. Poor girl who cannot afford lunch…The way they become friends doesn’t feel organic. The way she discovered the letter totally unrealistic. Do you start looking in stuff when you are at someone’s else place? No. The undressing scene came out of nowhere. Do you suddenly undressed when you are 16-18 when there is a guest from the opposite sex in your home? No. But mostly the dialogues felt ridiculous, long, unrealistic and not sincere. They felt off. Teenagers don’t speak like that.
I was surprised that it’s fully in English and no Korean version available. That production felt American trying to imitate kdrama. Is it really an Asian production? Does this
project really belong to MDL?
