In short, it's about a married couple that breaks up when they were still kinda young and then later by chance meet again at same work location and then slowly work (No pun intended) to get together again. Nothing especial, but at least it is not the typical teenage love story that we all have seen in 300 variations.
Nothing wrong with this series. Low ratings I guess come because..Gasp!....middle-aged people! Very uncommon as we all know, especially in Chinese series where almost everybody looks like they just graduated from High School but nevertheless are already CEO's or Police inspectors. Anyway, at least something different to watch.
As there are already comments about this particular subject in this online discussion of the excellent drama Luoyang, here are my 2 cents: Just surprises me how many people have a problem spending (like in this case) $7 a month to watch good (Chinese) dramas. Not everything is free and sooner or later one runs into "paywalls" anyway on any of the sites out there. I mean, $7 a month is less than 2 coffee drinks. Makes no sense to me when people complain about having to pay for good content but then have no problem spending happily on something else. These companies need to make money too.. Otherwise, what? Watch (the same) ads every 10 minutes like on some sites plus wait for days to continue the dramas.....? Also, for companies like IQiyi with no real representation in the West, it's extremely difficult to have ad-based revenue, as their ads are non-relevant on this side of the globe. So what they are doing is not too bad for the customers here.
Okay, sounds good. I will do that! If it really gets better, to me, I'll change my review.
I barely had time to watch anything lately but today I will go back to watching it. It's really easy to do so anyway, as the bilingual subtitles help me improve my Chinese!
