The first half was definitely painful. I couldn't even get mad at her for not just saying the truth because of how low her confidence was especially in contrast to the flashbacks where she was the direct opposite. I just loved watching her gradually start to become happy again. Everytime she smiled it felt very rewarding. Seeing her no longer constantly looking down felt amazing. I also liked the ml and his angst and also his demeanor when it came to dealing with the sml/antagonist.

The only other recent somewhat dark/somber drama I watched was "Light beyond the reed" which I loved but it was a difficult watch because of the topic. Only complaint is that it felt a bit rushed at the end

Around what point does he find out the truth or atleast "reconcile" with the fl even under the misunderstanding. In my unshine it was around the midpoint which I'm fine with but if it's at the end I probably won't like it.

I will check it out but the "melodrama" tag scares me lol. I prefer more "fluffy" dramas and only check out darker dramas from time to time. Too stressful..

This has the same feels as "my sunshine" that also stars Wallace Chung. Similar theme of lovers seperated by a "misunderstanding" and a lot of flashbacks to their younger days acted by different actors.

I hope I'll like this as much as I like my sunshine. So far so good, I just feel bad for "Ms Wen" because it's almost inevitable that she will get her heart broken.

She's not 100% certain it's her child yet. She took his hair to run a dna test so she will probably enquire/act once she's certain and has evidence. Admittedly, apart from the initial reaction, she seems very nonchalant about the whole situation. Currently she should also be suspecting the ml is in on the deception so she shouldn't be having all those yearning moments, she should hate him until it's cleared that they were both lied to. Kinda parallel to how the ml gave up on her when she was indifferent to their son.

Pretty sure it's only the MIL who knows about the lie, maybe the uncle as well. Everyone else believes the FL left to pursue her career thanks to the letter. There's also some other stuff with the FL's father that hasn't been revealed yet

You know they won't do that. I'd also like that but it will either be instantly resolved or Ji Hyeok will somehow end up chasing after her and apologizing for rightfully getting angry. That's just kdramas. He probably should still be angry at her because in his mind she played him like a fiddle, I expect the same when he finds out

Although it would make him "too perfect", I wish he had backed off once she said she's dating the lawyer. Don't leave but don't show his jealousy the way he does now by being intrusive and don't cross boundaries. Just be her friend. That would have been far more touching than this current scenario. It would actually show that he's genuine in wanting her trauma to heal instead of just wanting to date her. That's just me though.

There never should have been a 3rd party in the 1st place. There is a second couple directly linked fo the 2 leads, fill up the extra screen time with those 2 instead of forcing a love triangle.

Using her emotions as an excuse is no different to those who blame alcohol for crossing the line. If that's what they are going for then sure but I doubt people find that entertaining.

From a storytelling point of view, what was the point of her dating the lawyer? All the things that happened in ep7 and ep8 that "progressed" their relationship could have been done whether the lawyer was in the picture or not. Only difference is that less people would be annoyed by the fl.

What was the point of dating the lawyer if she's still gonna allow the ml to cross so many boundaries. Could even go as far as saying she cheated on the lawyer with that kiss

That's on my watchlist! I was thinking of trying it out after "our beloved summer". I dropped our beloved summer before but decided to try it again and really loving it, I'm on ep 10 and it's great

They really had a great start but decided to throw it all away for dumb tropes. The whimsy music and sound effects when he's jealous doesn't help either, it's just annoying. Where do you watch the previews?

You're using a "normal" person's way of thinking to try and make sense of her. "Does she have no humanity", yes, she doesn't have any humanity. She's the villain

It has good themes if you dig deep but the execution on screen just sucks. There's no way they wanted this many people to dislike the fl by the halfway point. That's their biggest failure imo. They have failed to portray the fl in a way that makes viewers sympathize with her when she's the main character. Its fine for her to be unlikable but viewers should be sympathizing with her or atleast understand her but they just hate her.

No one likes love triangles in a drama that isn't about love triangles. Putting the fl in a love triangle halfway through the show is bound to get massive hate for both the character and the drama. It doesn't matter whether it's real/fake or the lawyer is trying to help her and/or Doha or not. If it's through an annoying trope people will be annoyed. They should have just made the lawyer show interest and put more scenes of him from the beginning then there wouldn't be as much backlash.

Off topic a bit but I really dislike how kdrama MLs are usually portrayed as just mindless dogs who will follow and wait for the FL who doesn't seem to care about them. It's very off-putting and honestly pathetic. In this drama, I wouldn't mind the fl dating the lawyer if it meant ml would back off, perhaps use it as a way to give the leads some space. It's still an annoying way but tolerable. Instead it will just be some cringe nonsense of the ml constantly being jealous and the lawyer teasing/provoking him. Worst part about these scenarios is following them on dates and trying to spy on them, self-respect right out the window. I can never be attracted to someone like that.

This would be fine if Do Ha actually backed off but we all know it's just gonna be a bunch of scenes of him constantly jealous and hurting. The preview already shows that he's gonna be tagging along their dates, confronting the lawyer, tagging along on their "farewells". All the most tropey love triangle tropes just wrapped up in the next episode. If she actually got the space you mentioned with the lawyer while Do Ha focused on work or something, it would actually be pretty good.

I also think they did a bad job showing how much Do Ha hurt her. We should be on her side and wanting him to prove himself and redeem himself but now I'm just wondering why he likes her so much, feels like she's the one who doesn't deserve him. Show us how he hurt her with the lies, how she missed him everytime he left, let her tell her friend/s how she feels so that we understand her actions and thought process more, make us dislike the ml and sympathize with the fl. Perhaps that will happen but we're halfway through the drama and a lot of people dislike the fl. I doubt that's what they were going for.

Target audience is women so the ml is always the one made to feel jealous. I saw a reddit comment on love triangles that said it's basically "self-insert power fantasy" and I couldn't agree more.

I'm gonna try ep7 but when I no longer fully support the main couple being together I'm most likely dropping. They should have atleast waited a bit before introducing these dumb love rival plots.

F off. Do Ha should just leave her be at this point. I don't even really get why she got so mad at him for forcing that guy to resign or even why she's just generally mad at him and wants to push him away. It was fun in the beginning but it's now just frustrating.
