I can see why this one was a hit in China Just the camera work and dialogue are enough for it to be 8/10 Add the realistic portrayal of characters and we got a 8.7/10 movie
I loved your theory and just like the show, your theory shines so much (pun-ing back) I think hina that runs the hotel acts like the human need to communicate, since the locked doors at her hotel aren’t locked and the focus of her hotel is the coffee shop where the gossip flows

Every episode felt like a movie
Each episode costs a lot and it’s scene through scenery and excellent actors
I enjoyed the concept could have been more on the heartwarming side
