so no one is gonna pick subbing this...the people at mango tv just randomly stopped sighh
Mango TV has subs for VIP members. They tend to roll it out slowly into their YouTube channel. But honestly, their subs suck. I’ve relied heavily on recaps from avid fans here and Soompi.
Thanks for sharing your views and I generally agree with them. The character development makes sense given their…
Correct me if I’m wrong, are the events of the fake pregnancy, XY and NX’s divorce, and CY’s blindness within one day of the wedding? The fake pregnancy is entirely unnecessary except to push the narrative that XC isn’t as great of a brother to CY as we’re led to believe. It’s quite apparent up until recently that XC’s love for CY is on the borderline between familial and lover. He simply prioritized CY’s happiness.
I don’t know if it’s lazy writing or intentional sabotage of the XC character. Why introduce this new misunderstanding/lie with 3 episodes to go? I’m not convince we’ve seen the last of NX. In XY’s rush to a divorce, NX and her brother have the opportunity to return home and stop the blasting of the iron ore mines. In short, there are enough obstacles for our couple to overcome without adding something so superfluous.
Also, are they aware that DS poisoned the emperor? Is anyone actively looking into the matter? Wasn’t the sad looking voodoo doll left behind on the table before they fled after temporarily blinding CY?
did he sleep with that damn woman NX? I didnt watch that weddibg episode yet because I cant hack this abusing
I’ve pulled this from a recap by Angelflower at Soompi:
NX waits on the bed while XY drinks in his study. The servant is sent to fetch XY. XY angrily heads to the bridal chamber. He tells NX, "I only came here to say this. Since all we had was a deal, there will be nothing else between us." He turns to leave but NX stops him. He says that he gave her the position she wanted (his wife), so what else did she want? She replies, "I want your heart. I want you to stay." (REALLY? She's almost as ridiculous as Ning Wang. *facepalms*) She grabs a little corner of his robe. "Tonight, I'm your wife." XY takes the robe off and leaves.
NX follows him out while he ignores her. She finally pulls her sword and points it at him. He says, "That's enough. My patience with you has its limits." She retorts that she's the same, but he easily disarms her and holds the sword against her neck, "I won't always let you win." NX challenges him to kill her and start a war again; if they can't be husband and wife, they can be sinners of both countries. XY is briefly tempted, pressing the sword closer but then drops it, looking at her in contempt before leaving. NX looks at him leave, "XY, tonight was meant to be our wedding night." (If this is meant to invoke pity for her lol - I doubt any one of the audience cares.)
She deserves worse, But XY also have political considerations to abide by.
If you have the patience, perhaps Viki or Amazon Prime may pick it up at a later time. It’s too late for me, I’m watching it through an Asian site using VPN in spite of the fact I have international (US, really) VIP access on Mango TV. I’m not proud, but I'mcommitted to the bitter end!
I have watched the wedding (episode 31) multiple times now. It's sad and it succeeds in making the audience feel their heartbreak. NX underestimates XY and commits the ultimate sin of vanity by overreaching. Her petty cruelty to CY insures that she will never win the heart of the man she so desperately covets. In some ways, that is her original sin. She covets that which does not belong to her.
The hopelessness displayed by both XY and CY is difficult to shake off. My thoughts have repeatedly drifted to these two fictional characters for the last 24+ hours. I'm confident the remaining episodes will bring a happy resolution. But I don't believe we're quite done with all the pain. How can we know sweetness without experiencing bitterness. Isn't that a prerequisite in the world of c-dramas?
All indications from intro and end title songs lead me to believe it will be a happy ending. However, the female lead CY has a penchant for prophetic dreams so that leaves for many possible outcomes. I for one love tragedies. But I came to this drama for its lightheartedness and have stayed for the unusually high addiction value. This love story will stay with me long after its final episode next week.
I wish Viki could pick this drama up because the english subs on youtube are a mess
Or perhaps all dramas receiving an international release should just allocate funds in their production budget for subtitles! I miss Dramafever when it comes to subtitles.
Watching the started of ep 29, if ML got anger management issues after drinking. Don't drink. WTH.Fortunately…
For someone who leads investigations, he’s quick to jump to conclusions when it involves our girl CY. His self-reflection is always about 1-2 scenes behind. I’m over being upset at this point. I accept this as HOT people problems!
I don't normally do this, but this drama really got to me. I find myself desperate for updates. It’s by no means a perfect drama, but it is incredibly addictIve. The love story performed by the male and female leads deliver in spades! For those in need of a quick fix like the junkie you are, read without shame my friends!
Sob! The previews for 29 and 30 are on the Mango app. This show is killing me. How did I ever get so invested…
I hear you! But the anticipation is part of the fun! Dramas like this have become a welcomed release for me in the age of Trump! I’ve never needed greater distraction than in the past 3+ years. I picked up Chinese and Korean dramas shortly after his presidency began in 2017.
I’m so sad that I’m losing interest with this just because how slow the eng subs is. I think it’s best enjoyed…
I wish I could lose interest! But my patience is wearing thin! I will think twice before watching another drama that is strictly on Mango TV. The irregular scheduling and delayed, ridiculously bad subtitles makes for an abusive relationship. I don’t like being treated like the second female/male lead!
I’m not certain the purpose for such an irregular schedule. Perhaps it hopes to attract new audiences and allow…
Unfortunately it’s a week behind in the US region. Episodes 25 and 26 were just released today for VIP members on the Mango TV app. It will take anywhere from 2 to 7 days before the bad subtitles are available.
I don’t understand why the producers of this show and Mango TV will allow the release of of non-subtitled episodes on their international app. It damages the brand and overall reception of the show. It appears they prefer quick, cheap-modest gains at the expense of international audience. It only forces people to turn to illegal sources. The iQIYI app is a far superior product, well worth the extra cost. I’m tech savvy enough to watch these dramas as they’re released overseas. But I care about consistency and quality so I prefer the whole experience. I want subtitles in HD quality in my initial viewing. I don’t understand their business model.
This page suggests that the next episode (Ep. 29) is only airing on the 27th Thurs? So it is really gonna stretch…
I’m not certain the purpose for such an irregular schedule. Perhaps it hopes to attract new audiences and allow opportunities to catch up. Or they aim to build up anticipation for the final stretch with existing audience and gain views through re-watching. I’m definitely doing the latter and have found new perspectives based on reviewing some overlook scenes and bad subtitles.
Wow... so I wasn't expecting the reason for Xue Yao's brother's death to be related to him being secretly in love…
Xue Mu's death is definitely suspect. However, that does not begin to justify the shitty behavior from Xue Yao! For a mighty general, he is extremely narrow minded. Unless he truly believes Chu Yue is lying about not knowing his brother, how can she be held responsible for his death! For someone who just moments before this revelation was willing to exchange his family/clan's "get out of jail" card for his beloved, he doesn't bother with the simple task of asking Chu Yue directly. It is justifiable for him to end his relationship based on what he currently knows. It would be near impossible to continue a relationship with the woman your brother not only loved, but died protecting.
I'm getting tired of reminding myself that this is a drama and I shouldn't expect rationale. I'm hating on Xue Yao at the moment. But hot ZYC draws me back each time. Damn if he's not my weakness! I guess I'm guilty of irrational behavior. Like that famous line, "I can't quit you!" But you're really pushing it!
