Overall is a good drama. Half of the story focuses on how the couple trying to improve their husband-wife relationship. The story then paces up after ep26. But unfortunately, the last episode seems so rushed. Wei shao makes a decision by not returning to yujun & continue to attack panyi. The story is trying to make us believe that he's a great general that values people over his family. Even Xiao man agreed to her husband's decision. But that's wrong, it's illogical. Yujun is the capital, & there are people too, citizens of yujun, not just his family. And there comes the magic. The one who swore never to return to yujun, & cut off his finger, suddenly appeared at the front door, offering help. We can only assume the enemies are fool they didn't see him entered the besieged city. And magically he could turn the tide.

What i don't understand is the age of lady yu lou/e huang. Isn't bogong too old to be matched to her? Back then when she was matched to bogong, she's just a kid?

Are there some versions of this tv show? I found one with 40 episodes, 36 episodes, and 30 episodes?

This one is so underrated

Yeah, probably it is the reason, but remember, when he wanted her to cooperate first time, he didn't show any affection towards her, no feeling, no love, he even tortured her.

He's a prince with enormous resources, singlehandedly shaping his own life since a kid, yet he feels he needs a help from enemy girl just because someone is targeting them both. Unconvincing reason to be honest. And the girl is... amnesiac.

I don't remember, but i think XJS wasn't the founder of the death camp. He saved the trio from it, then secretly re-invigorated it to support his cause.

The more the story unfolds, the messy it is. Start from ep17, all they act don't make sense. Three people already dead, they know YWS is wufeng spy, but they still try to protect her, even blow up the prison together? One dumb mc is enough, but the whole group? Omg, I can't believe they ruined the writing of such a beautiful show.

The plot is complex, but one thing i don't understand: why did the Gong family agree to spare Yun Que's life & let her to become the medicine tester in the back hill? (just for the sake of that little love story with elder Yue?) it doesn't make sense, since both parties are archenemies, & the back hill is Gong's secret place.

For a moment i thought he was Chen Xiao.
