i only saw it now. God knows if its true or false. But 1 and half year for a 24 ep drama sounds a bit too much. But i found only one source that said this

as far as i can remember, the initial melon before filming and when filming started was 12. And then there was this tencent conference at the beginning of this year which said 20. I don't know how it changed, but i hope its the reason i mentioned about (1 hour episodes to 40 min ) otherwise thats 8 more eps

i don't know if i can remember this correctly but last year when they announced the drama, i heard they were planning to air 1-hour 12 (60x12= 720mins)episodes. Those days there were discussions about cdramas reducing episodes and following the path of kdramas. but that clearly did not work. So if they are doing 40x20 (800mins) episodes, since the initial 1-hour plan didn't work, it would not make much difference in terms of script changes. Otherwise an 8 ep expansion means alot of changes to the script has been made.

don't know how accurate the source is but i heard that FI has been done for half a year now and now only they've sent it for review
