Later on, it was resumed and aired on another streaming platform that is not subject to the censorship board's content regulations and not from mainland china.

BL content from mainland China can be aired on Chinese streaming platforms like iQIYI and Youku, but the series will face censored only. If they want to portray a same-sex relationship, they need to air it on another streaming platform outside mainland China to avoid being banned from distribution.

If they want a same-sex relationship to air on Chinese streaming platforms like iQIYI and WeTV, they need to film or produce it outside mainland China, like in Taiwan or Thailand.

Youku dropped its Q1 promotion again yesterday. They started an investment promotion last month, but the distribution license was not issued even after passing the review. So now, Youku will seek new investors or sponsors.
