I probably shouldn’t say this but Mu Ziqi’s 55% favorability toward miaomiao shows that he trusts her because she’s the only one who accepts his true form as a demon that’s why ziqi protects her he’s young so he gets shy easily so it’s not necessarily cuz he loves her.
According to me, there are two possibility for the death of the Mu family.
1st Mu Ziqi killed the Mu family: Perhaps he lost control of his demon powers and his mother revengeful woman took the blame and left him because he wants to stay with the identity of human and always denies himself as demon.
2nd The Mu family’s treatment led to their death: In a recent episode we saw that the Mu family didn’t treat him with humanity. It’s possible his mother killed the family in anger to protect her child. However, since he doesn’t want to live as a demon, she may have left him to be raised as a human.
