I am quite concerned about this new approach. I can envision a complete lack of moral/cultural focus. If anyone…
TBQH I watch Kdramas simply because they are so much different to the repetitive stuff we get in the UK and USA. I like the way they focus on human stuff rather than bif bof bash and sex.
As a British person who very much enjoyed CLOY as the first of (now) many K-dramas, I would agree with many of the comments here. I particularly enjoy listening to the original Korean as opposed to going for the dubbed speech track. I've watched so many now that I even know a few Korean words. I personally wouldn't want to watch a remake as I too don't think it could be easily matched, nor would a story line set elsewhere be quite so interesting. There might be a wider market for versions dubbed into many other languages, but that's all. A big thumbs down from me! (It's worth noting that CLOY hasn't yet been dubbed into English - I would think it better to do that than waste money on a new version)
PS I do hope they don't remove the original version if they do produce a new one as I can't in any way image that it would be as good.
