Another point of note is that the legal aspects in the cases were thoroughly researched and portrayed in a completely realistic way. Criminal defense lawyers really have it tough..
You should read the novel part...those chapter were hilarious and FL even went to buy it personally and felt embarrassed…
I was just about to comment about the novel part. It was hilarious ππ In fact the whole novel was! And to a great extent the drama adaptation has retained the necessary and the best parts. Just read your review and it's echoing my thoughts on the drama as someone who also has read the novel π₯³
I got confused. Who accused her that she did plagiarism. Upto 4 episodes i thought it is his sister and his sister…
No. Cen Si Si didn't get hold of the drafts. She just made use of the situation
Xu Huashi, while going through an old box in her grandma's home in Su City finds an old phone of Xu Huaisong. When she checks it (after charging it as shown in the drama π ) she finds the unsent drafts in his phone. She finds it amusing that her brother had a crush and impulsively decides to post it. She creates an account as "poet" and posts it as a story in a women's online magazine. It becomes viral overnight.
This happens around the same time when Ruan Yu gives outline of her story to Mingyang to publish. So "Poet" story gets published first and when Ruan Yu's gets published there is a public outcry obviously that Ruan Yu plagiarised due to similar storyline.
At this point, Cen Si Si somehow finds out the "poet" is from the same school as them all and introduces herself to Xu Huashi as her senior. She sweettalks her into putting a case against Ruan Yu (at this point I think she kind of connected the dots based on the similarities in the stories and her knowing RY/XHS) from school days. Even otherwise she wanted to ruin Ruan Yu completely(If you remember she says to Li Shi Can when he visits her after her suicide attempt that she did it to take revenge on Ruan Yu as he likes her )
Even at this time "poet" doesnt realize that the other author is her brothers crush as Ruan Yu is under the pen name "Lily Vale" and simply agrees to put a case. So when Ruan Yu traces her and asks to meet she gets scared and says she bought the outline from someone else and was unaware and agrees to withdraw the case and publicly apologise.
Then on a particular morning, sister sees that a writer from Jinjiang posted a long comment on Weibo. Though this person didnβt name Ruan Yu specifically, it was quite clear to the readers that this person was talking about Ruan Yu. The person said that Ruan Yu not only plagiarized the new writer but also bullied her, forcing her to give up her pen name. The poster claimed that Ruan Yuβs actions were a shame to all the creative writers.
Then she realised that someone was deliberately slandering Ruan Yu trying to mislead the public opinion. Someone had intentionally stirred the whole thing up to begin with. She and Zhao Yi had been too naive about the whole incident. Thats when Ruan Yu asks for the original source but sister doesn't disclose saying confidentiality issues. Huashi asks Zhao Yi to trace Lily Vale, he tells that her name is Ruan Yu and this rings a bell in Xu Huashi's mind and she quickly goes to the art gallery room in school to find that "RYXHXHS" behind the piano ( as she reads it in Ruan Yuβs story) This discovery compels her to call Huaisong and spill everything she did and that's how he lands up suddenly in China.
As he the only one who knows how to solve the case π
So in essence there is no stealing, plagiarism. It's just two versions of the same story βΊοΈβΊοΈ
I got confused. Who accused her that she did plagiarism. Upto 4 episodes i thought it is his sister and his sister…
Netizens accuse her of plagiarism. Sister used the ml's drafts to post in an online book or magazine first under a different name. Later fl's story gets published. Netizens compare the two and accuse FL as her story released later. There is another character called Cen Si Si who makes matters worse. Please read the spoiler below shared by another commenter @nikipet few days ago which I copied and pasted.
the full BDay live stream was 1h26min longthe first 58 minutes in 3 parts available with ENG subs::Part1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GdpvHWCSKAPart2…
Jin Shangyu and Huang Ying as couple it's sad, we didn't see anything about them be a couple, are they really…
Yes. In Ep 24 he says he has the answer for her question. And then they leave together and pass message through Monkey to Su Ruofei to not to look for them. Also right at the end of Ep 24 when they all get together in the Green Flash workshop Eleven calls her sister in law , means they are together.
To be fair initially when he loved Su Ruofei he was avoiding Huang Ying . Later when he knew Su Ruofei truly loved Yunmu he starts to eat streamed buns again indicating he reconciled to that fact. It is also shown that he misses Huang Ying when she goes away and feels happy when he finds her and agrees to help. All through the series we have seen how much Huang Ying loved him ( to the point of obsession π€£) So I felt it was acceptable! Sometimes care is also love. In terms of romance there is nothing shown between them apart from the accidental π
Music and symphony was fantastic all the way through and so was the light hearted bantering and comedy.
Ending:
I liked that they showed Su Ruofei had not forgotten her original intention of establishing her disbanded Green Flash music workshop! As a Music Minister she made rules which allowed Private music workshops to have equal rights and respect like the Official ones. By touring around the Dongsheng continent she not only made music accessible to all which is what she always insisted on but also enriched her experience and skills in this process. Handy for a music minister right? And future support from people for her Young Lord π. Following her MIL's footsteps. This also allows Yunmu to settle into his new role as Royal Advisor without distractions π
Yunmu had already been deaf for several years and had learnt to lipread and been through a lot of suffering! Despite his disability he had shown his courage, strategy and ability to be an excellent ruler! Eg- Anticipating Yun Shang/Su Ruoshan's move, he made arrangements to foil their plans without causing a single casualty in the Music Minister appointment ceremony! So I felt it was reasonable to leave him deaf rather than miraculous cure by Jade or miracle treatment! Of course he always had Xiaoqi and now Su Ruofei by his side.
Regarding the villains, Su Ruoshan becoming mad was enough suffering for her life. The Uncle could have been put behind bars for life but I guess as a Monarch he gets more merit for showing mercy than imprisoning or killing his own kin! But still!
Jin Shangyu and Huang Ying as a couple wandering and caring for each other is also acceptable! Their contrasting personalities probably complete each other and they make a cute couple!
I am happy with the ending. I guess production budget didnt allow for a wedding etc so it appeared bland. The slingshot and kiss were good though.
Could You SPOIL Me......................When did the leads get together like a couple?Any breakups? How's the romance?
Which episode are you in? Just a background about YunMu **Major spoiler here** He is poisoned as a child by his uncle Yun Shang (His Majesty's brother) who eyes the throne. He escapes their assassination attempt and enters the Green Forest where he hears Su Ruofei's music. She helps him escape and there they witness the "Green light" from a Jade plant which cures him but leaves him deaf! Their fate gets entangled at that moment! They share the Jade plant and part their ways. YunMu then learns to lip-read with the help of his closest aide Xiaoqi. Years later YunMu comes to the same city (to look for the Jade girl) with the pretext of looking to recruit musicians for the prestigious Symphony workshop full of musical talents. This gives an opportunity for the best musician to become the Music Minister. The deaf YunMu is surprised that he is able to hear Su Ruofei's music!! Through some humorous situations she ends up being his personal entertainer at his residence. They are initially constantly bickering and bantering but do develop feelings for each other from episode 7 or 8 I think but don't recognise it. He realizes it first. When she comes to know he is deaf and her importance in his life in episode 11 she acknowledges her own and his feelings as well. There is some kissing and dancing but nothing hot π₯π₯. This is C drama π No real break up as such but in ep 14 FL's sister frames her for setting up fire in the instruments room and she is imprisoned! Realising that she may become the victim of his Uncle's scheme he acts like that and sends her away to her city to protect her!
Really enjoying this drama now. All characters and situations are making sense and there is so much progress just in a few episodes! I must say the synopsis is rather poorly written.
I am at episode 18, and although I don't usually support breaking up for the greater good or other person's safety…
You are right here. He was only pretending to "break up" so as to protect her. He did put secret guards around in the forest and received daily updates from them ( read as once in few days due to the postal system in those days π€£). She realises it later on.
In this story, the emperor's only wife was a musician girl who later on becomes a music minister due to her exceptional…
I am enjoying it so far. I was wondering what the outcome would be if the young lord loves a common musician! Would he be stripped off his title or the girl framed and punished or becomes his concubine etc. Your comment has given me clarity. I can imagine this Young Lord becomes the Royal Advisor and the musician girl becomes the music minister and they become the Emperor and Empress in future! That would be a beautiful ending π
In fact the whole novel was! And to a great extent the drama adaptation has retained the necessary and the best parts.

Yea I noticed he only has a few minutes in each episode yet he nails every appearance ππππβ
Strong villainous aura and screen presence and brilliant use of his skills- eyes, tone, gestures, body language and even the crutch π©Ό
