I really hesitated to watch this movie because of your review, doki doki, but I'm glad, I decided to give it a…
I understand. I won't say my opinion is correct or better than others. I just simply could not tolerate the excessive amount of verbal abuse and psychotic behavior from the male character. From my perspective, it's something that should be intervened and treated, not celebrated. While I do understand that it's a work of fiction, I still feel uncomfortable watching it, as it feels like it's subtle validation of toxic behavior.
Can't blame you for having a different opinion. From my PoV certain aspects in it, in reality would definitely be one or multiple forms of psychopathy that should not be endorsed - but treated.
In short, I'm very critical when it comes to what I watch. Most people aren't.
Can someone help to explain the ending to me? Do you think that she survived or do you think that she died? I'm…
That was a difficult concept for me to understand as well. But let's look at this realistically, she was in a car and bleeding profusely from her lower abdomen, the music was heart-wrenching and she turns her gaze to her with a pained and exhausted expression. From the flashbacks to what she had said and how she had failed to protect her, it looked almost like she had lost all hope for both of them.
So drawing from that, I would think she would most likely pass out and go into hypovelemic shock and crash into something or perhaps off of a railing and into the water, drowning them both.
The music playing at the time was title, "Modu Eodingalo" Modu meaning all, everyone, everything, etc and Eodingalo meaning somewhere or somewhere else. And that just might mean the ultimate escape for any living creature.
But then again, I might be overthinking it and the writer, regardless of all this might've decided that they were going to survive and live as close to happily ever after as possible.
The thing with open endings is that, the viewers and writer would have different endings in mind. :/
they did explain, they said she was either a policewoman or a bodyguard.development? really? the movie happened…
I see what you mean, and I agree that they could've done better. The ending I have no problem with, I actually preferred the darker ending because it felt so much more real.
The fight scenes could've been coordinated better, like instead of tanking every hit and coming out on top like a male would, she could've used a more evasive fighting style and gotten hit every now and then.
They could've achieved the same bloodied outcome that way and had it be more convincing. And my other gripe was how she let a bunch of them live.
The inconsistency was an issue I didn't focus too much on, like she lets 1-2 live that did worse and kills 1, then lets another one live and then flips switch and decides to kill. I mean, if they were going to have her flipping a switch, then that first kill shouldn't have happened.
given what I've said my rating should've been an 8/10 at most but the music, effects and acting was so phenomenal that I couldn't rate it lower than 9.
This was my experience watching the movie. Your take is yours. I have watched films that talk about the darker…
"watching movies are objective and different for everyone" You mean "subjective" not objective.
I'm never said you're not entitled to an opinion, and again and again I have to repeat myself to every person on this site -- THIS IS A REVIEW PLATFORM. Please for the love of god stop taking it personally when someone critiques your review because that's the entire purpose of such an establish platform.
Honestly, I don't even read the names of the OPs before I comment on anything.
I just desperately wish people could stop reviewing things subjectively and making something that could be great look like it's absolutely worthless and alternatively absolute inconsistent train wrecks of scripts are made to look like epitome of perfection.
I myself felt like turning away from this before I decided to give it a shot to see why so many people keep hating on this but realized from an objective perspective, this is actually not bad at all.
Not to be rude but I don't know you and I won't know you in the future. Why did I reply to this? So that perhaps someone in the future who feels like dropping this because of this review, can hear a different opinion on this review.
Sorry for the long reply and as the only personal statement on this thread; Have a good day.

I appreciate you not going on the offensive like every other k-fan. But anyhow, on a review or criticism platform, that's exactly what to expect -- criticism.
Anyhow, since it's been a while I can't really speak on it much now since I don't remember as much. But all I can say is that it was better than 6.5 for many reasons, including cinematography, effects and music. And unlike a lot of movies it decent consistency.
I never take replies or my own comments personally, since reviews stay for future viewers, I wanted to add my perspective on it on this, in case anyone shies away from this because of negative reviews.
The movie happens in the span of 1-2 days, there CANNOT be character development. What were you expecting? For…
I read through the entire "conversation" and I didn't find myself imposing my opinion over yours, if anything you were half right. I was simply disagreeing with your opinion.
I mean, clearly you could have had tried to vouch for your opinion via debate but you clearly jumped on the defensive from the get-go.
So yeah, you're right I guess I don't have time to discuss with users like you either. Have a good day though.

p.s. I also love how on a review board and a comment section people act like someone just invaded their homes and/or personal space upon negative reply.
I mean, why post a opinion in public if you don't want criticism? You do realize you can't complain when someone disagrees when you scream your opinions at the top of your lungs at a busy intersection right?

Never said I enjoyed it for personal reasons. Unlike K-fandom I don't rate/review for visuals or personal values. If it doesn't appeal to me personally I simply don't rate it.
If you can't objectively rate something for it's actual values, then why trash it and create a lynch mob mentality to drag it's score down?
And typical K-fandom to always go on the defensive when anyone disagrees with them. GG.
I knew this would be a hit or miss... is it too much to ask for a strong female lead with a fresh plot? it's was…
they did explain, they said she was either a policewoman or a bodyguard.
development? really? the movie happened in 48 hours and you expect development? That's like you expecting someone to have character development making a round trip to the grocery store.
The movie depicted a very real life scenario that I have seen myself in real life, and it wasn't meant to be a heartwarming or feel good movie. It delivered on what it was trying to convey.
Such a disappointment, for once in a while we get a woman on a revenge mission, instead of a man, and both plot…

Unrealistic: it's actually very realistic for a Korean environment, heck include China, Japan and Thailand, etc. People are very focused on their own problems and very much afraid of getting involved in anything dangerous. Human trafficking is a scary business and anyone who stands up against it gets pulled into it and turned into a product.
The fight scenes were bad yeah, but that was the only aspect that wasn't delivered well. Not sure where you watched but where I watched the subs weren't bad.
This isn't a feel good movie, it's a very accurate depiction of reality, I myself and a cousin of mine have gone through similar experiences growing, more so my cousin and no one stepped in or found out till everything was done.
Just because you didn't enjoy something for personal reasons doesn't mean the fault lies with said object/material.
Nevertheless, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

But you had me at suspense for a while there.
I mean, you could have a "huge" anything after all
past and present overlap on the internet x_x

Guess dieting is harder than it seems, especially for slow metabolisms.
