well logically this is a campus drama exploring music and campus life. The main leads are in their early 20's and the SML is his early 30's, the screenwriter could have just written a narrative exploring interpersonal relationship between the three leads instead of romantic relationship where a actor in his 30's competing with a guy In his 20's for one girl is an indirect disrespect towards the senior actor.

This is the quite the problem in mixed genres where romance become hindrance to the actual story.
