He called him Jou-chan in the first ep and switched to Jou-san in the second episode
I'm sorry, didn't get that... He called him Jou San in the first ep and switched to Jou San in the second EP? I haven't watched the second EP yet so I don't know...
This is gonna be the first time I see Maeda Gordon's acting. I'm pretty excited. I've not read the manga so I don't know, but people are worried about the age gap. The age gap isn't really new in the drama scene. I hope that it's just some light rom-com and nothing more than that because he's still in high school...
i'm fine with problematic and flawed female leads. people aren't perfect IRL either. and frankly, perfect, nice…
Ikr. It's actually pretty shocking to me that people think that they're the kinda people you should look up to. I've recently been watching 'my roommate is a gumiho', and the fl is absolutely lovable. She's strong and guess what, she doesn't hate on people for no reason. She doesn't mistreat the ml. She's nice and still a QUEEN. We need different representation of "strong" women more often. We were first being portrayed as "helpless and naive" and now as, "toxic and abusive" so I guess it's an endless cycle.ππ
This show is actually pretty sad. I remember when I watched it, in each episode, I was looking for happiness and hope. I watch a lot of rom-coms, I'm used to happy and funny things happening in dramas all the time. But when I didn't find it in this, I got somewhat anxious. And to make things better, they give you a tragic ending, and also a part of it to be judged by you. I'd like to say this drama is really underrated and it's actually pretty good.
I agree with what you said in the Beginning. Japanese bl dramas actually do a very good job with their different stories and characters. I haven't watched that many of them, but I think from what I've watched, all of the movies/shows are so interesting to watch. Also, I now think I should watch this show, but since you said that the characters are good, I'll feel bad if the ending wasn't good. So do you think that the ending is bad, or is it just, what it's supposed to be? I don't mind sad endings, I just don't like bad endings...
I remember when I read the description for 'true beauty', it surprised me because I thought that they might wanna give us a message or something, but they instead, gave her a makeover. Like wth...π π Also, the thing I don't like is the fact that "strong" female leads are represented as women who are abusive. People admire them, but as a woman myself, I feel bad. Why can't a woman who's nice also be strong? Why can't a woman who's not violent also be strong? Women can be "strong" and "independent" without being toxic. It's like if you want to show a woman as powerful, show her as toxic. Or they make the female leads annoying. Very few of them are actually likeable. And it surprises me because I heard that many of the writers for k-dramas are women themselves? Why portray us in such a way???ππ
You know I just found out yesterday abt what happened to him and I'm so sad now... I was quite looking forward…
I also came to know about him after he passed on. I remember crying reading the news articles because in all of his pictures, he'd always be smiling. Do check out "sky of love" and "boku no ita jikan", cuz' even though they are sad, they are a proof of how good of an actor he actually was. Another show I'd recommend is "2 weeks". I have no idea why were his roles always so tragic, but he did a good job.
Agree with the other commenters here that the movie was lacking in many ways, but it might be the only film with…
Ikr...the first time I watched the movie, I didn't know how amazing the cast was because the movie was lacking...π π But they are my favorite actors now...
