you are not wrong, but I guess i feel differently about some things. 1. Yichen's brother was acting like he was…
Very true, the acting is good I just struggled through those last few episodes and the writing/plot felt lazy but you make good points, let’s see what happens going forward!
It’s always fascinating how some people seem more interested in analyzing the audience than the actual series. If…
LOL I’m not literally concerned (it’s a drama review and only my opinion not to be taken overly seriously) and I did nothing but analysis the series the characters choices, and the plot line? I also didn’t even rate the show yet? And I’m definitely not going to rate it based on one character where did I say that in my comment (I only said the brother was annoying at times not that that is why I don’t like the drama?) It is a fictional drama. I do understand people like different things, and I can get behind a good toxic plot; but since in my opinion the plot is no longer good and the story line has fallen off after it started well and people still love it that’s where I am confused. Like what you want to that’s fine? but same as you said what I read watch and don’t enjoy is my business so focus on the series and not on my one opinion.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I’m slightly concerned by the amount of people who are enjoying this series and the high rating lmao. The series started out fine but this hostage, r*pe situation is crazy?! Especially after Lu Feng literally almost paralyzed the man’s brother (no matter how annoying he is lol), also his mom was dying so he wasn’t thinking straight like let’s give him some grace. I feel like trying to please your mom and hiding your true gay self is a very real life situation. Now getting married ehh Lu Feng has valid anger about that but again…. Kidnapping and r*pe feels like cruel and unusual punishment. Like he did come to apologize, probably never slept with his “wife” and has also been miserable the whole time! Ugh; It’s a sad story all around and I hate that Yi Chen left Lu Fang…. But this is very unnecessary like I’ve lost the plot, what’s the story line?! Everyone needs therapy lol … but I guess that’s just me hahah 🤷🏽♀️
Perspective is such an interesting thing. I’ve seen so many different opinions and takes about the show, the characters, etc. & some people arguing over who’s right and wrong, especially following episode 7. Thank God there is only 8 episodes, I don’t think I can handle this emotional turmoil much longer.
All this to say. This is a show and characters are designed to be hated and others are designed to be loved. The actors portraying these characters are doing something right if they make you feel any type of way. So I just want to start by acknowledging that this is an acting masterpiece in the Thai BL world especially but really a great series overall. I also think the gay love aspect of this show isn’t even the most interesting part (although that is completely fine if it is for you). The story, the military coverups, the media being manipulated to fit one sides narrative, the homophobic slurs. Let’s not get lost at the fact that some of these things are still happening today. We should not be desensitized to the death of young people, coverups, intimidation and retaliation for doing the right thing. Obviously lots of people, including myself, read and watch dramas to get away from the political mess constantly on social media and in our face, everyday; but I truly appreciate the artistry that went into this drama to portray real situations, real emotions and real reactions. Showing how easy it is to be sit by and be quiet, be complicit or “neutral” and the consequences of allowing people in power to lie, steal, and hurt others with no regard for the law and the effect that has on people, their families, and eventually the whole country. Sometimes people think if they don’t say anything and stay out the way they’ll be ok, or if their family has money or their parent is a high ranking government official they are immune to the violence and it’s consequences. But it always affects everyone eventually. This drama is definitely designed to open your eyes to a variety of things, and it’s done so well.
I've been thinking a lot about Trin and Tanwa's fight. I've heard some people are blaming one or the other of…
“…there are no heroes or villains in this story. These are all flawed people reacting in realistic ways to a traumatic situation.” This is the first real take I’ve seen while scrolling through these comments. People talking about abuse and Trin needs to apologize to Tanwa. Like give that man some grace not even Tanwa is mad about it. He understands. It’s not ok to punch people but to act like in that situation of dealing with death (again), punching someone is hardly the problem. Someone Trin loves (even if not romantically) was literally shot dead and even though he was there he still couldn’t stop it and in his eyes that was Tanwa’s fault. While obviously not entirely his fault as this whole things is really the government/military’s fault. Punching him once out of anger doesn’t make him an abuser.
With all the stuff going on the world the storyline of government cover ups, violence against peaceful protesters, and military control is very relevant.. Everyone’s experiences, point of view, and actions are so nuanced and relatable. The emotions, the love, the cinematography *chefs kiss* Also, lots of dramas get professor-student (or teacher-student) relationships very wrong, but this is done right. The line drawn is clear, but that doesn’t mean Trin can’t care for his students and their safety, especially with his past, and I appreciate that aspect. The acting from Apo (of course) and others is amazing, this is a great series so far, really enjoying it!
also why do i feel like i know where the plotline with the architect guy is heading to....he'll probably get Tuo…
For sure! Tuo is definitely his type and he was lowkey hurt when he saw that Tuo has Jun xi. I feel like he chose him for the hotel project and is staying close to him so he can try something..
Not marking as a spoiler because yall need to know what you’re getting into when watching this mess…
Just to reiterate what’s been said, what is going on? I understand having a plot, but this is trash. If I thought my sibling was SA I would not let that person anywhere near them. The fighting wouldn’t even be a thing because that person would be out of sight (preferably in jail). Secondly, if knight didn’t do what they are accusing him of, I’m not going to continue kissing Mild without consent and trying to be cute with a back hug? I’m making sure that I explain myself and what happened clearly, because what I’m not going to do is walk around while everyone thinks I’m a r*pist?! TF?! Why drag this on, none of us are on the edge our seats, we are annoyed. This man disappeared for a few days but the calmness of Mild AND his friends is very weird. Thank God for the second couple, but still the series might not even be worth watching anymore. SMH. 🤦🏽♀️
Top tier drama. I mean come on the acting, chemistry, plot, directing, everything. Also I know the girlies love an enemy to friends series, but can we have this slightly obsessive, healthy, head over heels love that Tada is giving more often?! Because we all need someone to have ours backs and love us for who we are deeply and unapologetically like my mans is doing for Armin 😮💨. Lastly, the birthday fireworks, the Porsche, “my money is your money” AND wish #2, 💀 sir… LOL, I’m patiently waiting for my Tada 😭. I’m here for it. All of it.
Kept fast forwarding through a lot of this episode it was too predictable. A “plot twist” everyone saw coming, I was lowkey annoyed that Keen in particular didn’t catch on. He said it himself “someone with power” had to give Aits sister a heart and the perfect timing of Phuwish arriving as they trashed the gym and was about to stab Mawin .. come on. I suspect Pakorn has a plan, but even that wouldn’t redeem his terrible acting or character. But I’m not really that interested in watching the rest of this anymore. They’re going to have to save themselves and expose the truth, ugh. I hate a clichè
