Okay, so we have this whole drama where Fan Xiao’s lowkey obsessed with You Shulang from the start, right? He sees him and bam, he’s like, “Yeah, I want him, no matter what.” But plot twist: You Shulang is already with Lu Zhen. They’re not perfect, but things are chill. Then comes Fan Xiao, pulling the classic “by any means necessary” move. He manipulates Lu Zhen into thinking he’s the one who loves him by dropping major money and playing the caring friend card, until Lu Zhen’s like, “Oh, wow, Fan Xiao’s into me,” and breaks things off with You Shulang.

But, here’s where it gets wild. Fan Xiao drops Lu Zhen hard, making it clear he was just a pawn. Cue the massive reality check. Then, Fan Xiao goes all in and confesses to You Shulang, but it’s kinda like a fun game for him at first. Like, is this even serious? They get together, but... plot twist #2: Fan Xiao’s been drugging You Shulang this whole time to make things happen ( 🍇)

So, once You Shulang finds out about the dark side of Fan Xiao’s actions, he goes OFF. We're talking a full-on groveling arc where Fan Xiao has to beg for forgiveness. You Shulang’s so mad he almost kills Fan Xiao. But there’s more: Fan Xiao’s past isn’t all sunshine. His mom died saving him, and his brother is a total mess who hates him. A lot of trauma, right?

After that crazy long groveling phase, Fan Xiao finally gets it. He realizes You Shulang is his world, and this time, when he says he loves him, it’s the real deal. They get back together, and it’s all intense and complicated. The real kicker is how You Shulang really opens up to Fan Xiao about his feelings and past he even takes him to his mother’s grave, where he tells Fan Xiao he’s everything to him. And on top of that, You Shulang totally called Lu Zhen out, saying he was just a kid who couldn’t handle the truth ( so he never talked about his past to him )Meanwhile, Lu Zhen ends up alone, stuck in regret :)

Fr, the fact that a smash hit like Word of Honor led to Zhang Zhehan getting completely blacklisted (over old photos, not the show itself, which is lowkey wilder) is just peak C-ent trauma. And the whole Xiao Zhan/227 incident? That was pure chaos engineered to sink him, but he somehow slayed and survived the propaganda machine.

Basically, the good C-BL only exists for us because those OG actors took the L and became high-key martyrs. It's a miracle, but it's a bittersweet slay. We are streaming for their freedom!

So, here’s the thing about Shulang and Fan Xiao, Shulang is totally obsessed with him. Like, Fan Xiao is literally his whole world, no exaggeration. But first, Fan Xiao is going to pay big time. He’s going to get punished by Shulang, and then starts this super long 'groveling arc' where he has to crawl back. Shulang isn't going to make it easy on him at all you'll see how drawn-out it is if the series follows the book! But the good news is, after all that pain, Fan Xiao finally realizes how much Shulang means to him. I won't give away the details, but yeah, they absolutely end up together eventually. And Lu Zhen? He’s going to majorly regret letting Shulang go; based on the book, he just ends up with no one :)
