Ooo, let’s chat and compare notes lol. I’m looking for similar dramas as well. I wanted to watch more historical period dramas, with a little romance, and a smart/cunning female lead. All of the first couple of recommendations are decent. I loved story of yanxi palace, the netflix spinoff was decent. Sword and brocade was okay, rebel prince was really good just super long, love like the galaxy was also great. I just came here after watching general’s lady up to episode 4, the female lead…..there’s a lot left to be desired. What was your experience? Any recommendations that I haven’t tried?

The last episode was not worth it. I had to rewatch some scenes cause I just don’t understand what the cause for the separation was. I can assume but it wasn’t clearly expressed. I don’t recommend but I don’t hate it either.

The FL brother is worse to me, like he has all the audacity in the world

If you liked business proposal you’ll like this. Only complaint was it being only 10 episodes, I finished it in a day lol

Lol, it’s giving second lead syndrome. I believe the main couple is the FL and the emperor.

I agree with you 100% . The writer is talking about this mythical perfect female lead. I’ve never seen an Asian drama with a perfect female lead. These girls are dealing with stolen money and a crime. Why on earth is there no self awareness? Most people know that if you stumble across
Money that isn’t yours and you don’t plan on turning it in, you either hide it or turn it clean. These girls don’t need to be perfect. But they do need to have a little sense. I like the story line (just started it), but the female characters seem to act against their own best interest at times.

The only female lead I’ve liked in all the dramas I’ve come across is Ming Lan from story of Ming lan, have you seen it? I’m curious about your thoughts? Have you seen it and what did you think of the FL?

What episode do they get back from the past?
