Not always but he has reached brilliance before, yes. Chuno, Beautiful Mind and if you can handle his crazy laugh, Fated to love you, are his best performances to date, imo although Money Flower is yet another great one, and different than before. I love this actor.

Jang Hyuk made Chuno what it was. No, I can't imagine anyone else playing Dae-Gil the way Jang Hyuk did. He insisted on playing that role because he fell in love with it, and you can tell. Even the directors and producers agree that without Jang Hyuk, Chuno would'nt have been the success it was. It isn't just that he has skills, but his level of commitment to his roles is not easy to come by, and he was particularly committed to this one.

Jang Hyuk should be #1 for those two series . His performance in Chuno still makes me cry just by remembering it and Kim Nam Gil in Queen Seondeok was also amazing
