The English subs in the drama just used the generic brother/sister term, but in Mandarin Han Yuan Niang is the older sister twin and Han Shi Yi was the younger brother twin.

When the 5th Prince gave her the pendant, they talked about waiting for each other and returning safely. 2. Wang Er's play said that the relationship ended because of the difference in their statuses and the prince forgot his promise to the heiress...but he was wrong on both counts. Chen Yanyi named officially made her Empress (this takes care of status) and he fulfilled all his promises to her.
