Xiao Zhan said that about Ren Min? I apparently missed that. Sometimes I wish I understood Mandarin. I am really happy to hear that and appreciate him saying it. Poor girl has been harassed throughout most of the whole process.
Also, if you watch the BTS, you can tell that Xiao Zhan is very protective of her.

Li Qin and Ren Min are the two female actresses that I liked and was happy to be paired with Xiao Zhan. Appearance definitely helps, but acting ability is more important. I agree.

Honestly, I have seen some much, much worse female lead characters. She is actually, quite mild compared to most Cdrama "cute" girl characters....not that I like everything she does, but she is learning/maturing and over all still likeable.
Ren min is naturally cute I don't find her trying hard to be cute like other says.

It is crazy, and really lowers my estimation of those guy characters.😤

I must admit that Ren Min would look a lot better with out those bangs most of the time, but I do like her. It is too bad that the Stylist for the most part, didn't take the time to find out what hairstyles and makeup most flatters Ren Min. Some of the looks or styles she has in this drama, she does appear cuter and prettier though.
This Xianxia type of drama was a new experience for her and she does a pretty good job. Ren Min is very good at acting as more mature characters/scenes and crying usually quite naturally. But she appears young and smol, and it naturally makes her cuter as well. This drama actually improves the main female character compared to the novel. The character was very reckless, nonsensical and annoying. Thank goodness the character is better here and Ren Min helps with some of that.
I would give her a fair chance if I were you, to see what you really think of her in the drama. Good luck!

Yes. You would think so, but he is obsessed with revenge, power and selfishness.
Which makes you wonder if he actually really does love her, and he isn't just obsessed and needing another "reason " or excuse to "work" (kill, manipulate etc) towards fulfilling his other desires.
