I also wonder if they will tone down Shi Ying a bit. He was rather violent (at times) and could be cruel/ruthless (saying or being willing to destroy a whole race of people to find just one
person).

It is good to try to start a new drama with a fairly open mind. I also think everyone judges what they are watching, it is only natural. From her words, it seems like she is trying to give this drama a chance. Not everyone will be bulled over by the same shows or like the same actress/actor or character. 😊 Don't worry.

I do hope that Wu Lei will have more screen time.
I too, prefer seeing some of the backstory, (usually) instead of just being told it, if it isn't too many episodes in the beginning of the main story. 😉

I do often get annoyed when the family/others/secondary characters have way too much screen time, sometimes more than the main leads(depending on the story and characters).
I also, usually prefer kind, and more mature female leads, not overly childish or spoiled etc.
Hmm. I may check this drama out, so I am grateful to have more of an idea of what to expect, and if I really want to watch it.

I hope that the female lead's character is quite a bit improved compared to her novel version. In the novel, she is ( at least up to chapter 41) rather reckless, too quick to get angry, somewhat dumb and Annoying! Drama people, please don't fail us!🙏🥺😅

I'm sorry. I am still in the fairly early part of the novel. I am not sure how long it is.
If I had the detailed information you wanted, I would gladly give it to you. 😊 I do know that after lots of suffering and some misunderstandings, it is supposed to be a happy ending. That is at least what I heard. I also don't know how much of the drama they will change from the novel.

So far, it is pretty interesting though. Haha.

If it is a Kdrama, I will usually test out the first 2-4 episodes to see if I want to continue watching it. If it is a Cdrama etc the episode amount may differ.

But some dramas you just don't want to be dragged through the mud for. It isn't worth it to you. "Why Her" was one of those dramas for me. I love the male lead, but I didn't want to have to wait for the drama to explain why she was currently so terrible, and give her tons of excuses and have her make her way back to a top lawyer again. Often, I just don't have much interest in court dramas, so it wasn't worth it for me.🤷‍♀️
Maybe some day that drama will be....even though it is unlikely.

Well, Alchemy of Souls has some interesting things to it. I am okay with the Actress, just not her character.

The funny thing is, I was not a fan of Moon, but since watching this drama, I have begun to like her more. Haha.😅
It is interesting how appearances and characters can do that to you.

In terms of not really liking an actor or actress, I agree that it can be rather hard to enjoy a drama when that happens.
I also think that sometimes people forget that some of us are not going to like an actor/actress or characters or drama, and THAT IS OKAY and normal. We are not all going to agree on everything.
There is no need for some people to try to censor others so much...Talk about entitlement issues...

But the word Hate's meaning is quite a bit stronger than just dislike.
I definitely don't hate this female character. She just has a few things that can be a little annoying or frustrating, but not too bad.
