Zhu Yan couldn't because she vowed to stay out of Shi Ying's life, to Da Si Ming, to bring him back to life. If he does marry her bestfriend, that would be terrible.π

I personally know someone who married a person older than her by 16 years. I don't need to have an "open mind", in the way you say. Being open minded does not always mean to "accept" more extremes, or lack of morals or "taboo" things (in general).
Two adult actors that are working together, with 12 years a part is okay. It can be awkward sometimes, but it's fine.
I am talking about romantic relationships with 12 years age gap, in general...

I don't know how you think 12 years isn't that big of a gap, but it is definitely more than normal, or not within a "comfortable" range.
If they are just acting together, yes, it isn't a big deal. They are both adult actors.
