I'm curious about that too, as from experience, the novel and adaptation can be two very tonally separate entities e.g. Princess Weiyoung, Princess Agents, Miss Truth, Dr Cutie etc.

J-dramas need better kiss scenes! I feel like I got the Hallmark TV film treatment, here? with the brief kiss, then the cut away when things got more passionate. Feels like the only time I see good kiss scenes is when adultery situations are occurring.
Quite tonally similar to Masters of Sex with how the titular director is clinical about sex. Narrative-wise, some things are left unanswered, like what happened to his kids, wife and that former AV actress who's OL career was ruined by the uncensored tape leak.
Not a fan that the racism from the White American porn star goes unchallenged as that turncoat Japanese guy who sold them out didn't translate what she said. Blacks don't get the best portrayal either, from slave in painting, porn star who's killed, and racist cop.

I've watched up to ep 15 so far and its very mediocre, from some cheap costumes, lukewarm chemistry, Ariel's awkwardly forced crying scenes, trite and nonsensical plot, slow pacing, silly intro music, OTT and overuse of slow-mo action choreography, lack of character development etc. It has uneven writing that feels like its being made up as it goes, doesn't really offer anything new and get quite irritating in certain parts (don't blame you for fast-forwarding!). Annoying damsel in distress is stuck in a love triangle/square (one of whom is a bad take on Batman) ... that's been done to death! Really daft drama.
