Maybe I shouldn´t have expected a lot or should have expected a fluffy drama...but I I was totally bored the…
I've watched up to ep 15 so far and its very mediocre, from some cheap costumes, lukewarm chemistry, Ariel's awkwardly forced crying scenes, trite and nonsensical plot, slow pacing, silly intro music, OTT and overuse of slow-mo action choreography, lack of character development etc. It has uneven writing that feels like its being made up as it goes, doesn't really offer anything new and get quite irritating in certain parts (don't blame you for fast-forwarding!). Annoying damsel in distress is stuck in a love triangle/square (one of whom is a bad take on Batman) ... that's been done to death! Really daft drama.

Oh, dear - really? Seems the series is somewhat true to the tone of the book, if that's the case! I assumed as much that editing was to blame! I agree that it really does ruin it. How I wish there will be an alternative cut somewhere ...
I started watching this for the eye-candy (beautiful costumes, sets and actors!), but couldn't stay for the frustratingly…
Agreed! I'm at ep 21 and the silliness of some of the scenes is hysterical and frustrating simultaneously. I'm reminded of daftest elements from certain lakhorns, Indian serials and Bollywood films, where logic need not apply. Some risible and fake CG in some establishing or action scenes. More worrying is how romanticised some of the angst-ridden dysfunction and downright physically abusive scenes are with the main pair, which the following scenes doesn't even address! So dismaying and immoral. This could easily be triggering for some victims. This had promise somewhere, but its buried deep in bad editing as well as an expository, non-coherent characterisation and narrative. What a waste of some truly talented actors, An absolute mess (albeit, an aesthetically pleasing one). I'll give the book a go, though.

Seems a lot of Chinese celebs are getting married this month!
