Is it me? Haha I find Zhanglinghe particularly handsome in this drama ..I watched him several costume dramas with Bailu etc but he looked old and not that great but in this drama ..he looks dashing ..lol.
Actually many of the male even the evil ones are good looking in this drama …
Good thing there is a storyline ..not just an idol drama…..albeit still confused plot
Enjoying drama ..but up to episode 16 ..does anyone think it was purposely to be dramatic the main lead leaving?
They were hugging each other daylight then at night they get into their first major argument with 2 forced kisses and 2 slaps…as if they were 2 different people.
Why was he so upset about the bad guy saying female lead was white and sweet to kiss as if he believed that happened to her and he was jealous…then was not secure about leaving her…
It almost seem like he didn’t know what to do to leave her to ask her to come with him but mad she mentioned divorce papers
Finished drama ..kind of slow like first frost but sweet…wish they didn’t put so much lipstick on songwielong..he already has big lips ..red lipsticks doesn’t go with any male actor but they seems trends nowadays ..lol ..
Anyway question I still don’t understand…at the airport scene ..assume the 2nd male lead didn’t see her for ten years because he avoided the parties get together etc…assume he didn’t attend their wedding? When his friend was in disbelief he said probably because “ of things returned?…does anyone understand what he meant? Or just assumed he decided not to continue wi to the college friendship group
In the novel did they separate for 6 years also? It didn’t seem though because when I was scanning the last book chapters when he was professor seems like they said he married at 22?
In the drama they didn’t get married but he was about 27 then?
She takes him in when he is 19 and she is 28? At 21 he falls in love with her and they date briefly until they break up . About 6 years later at 27 he returns China?
right i rlly can't comprehend how she and zhou keyu are almost 20 years apart its kinda crazy but they look so…
I think she look extra young with the long hair…because he is so tall he actually looks older than his real age …so the age gap of 20 years in real life doesn’t show much…
Just finished drama…ought what happened to screenwriter at end made no sense. I was okay with her finishing her arc at the fire and him waiting for her till he was old…
I don’t get why anyone would forget abi it them except him after fire. In the modern world the Shen family existed..the portrait of him and her was still there…and people in modern world was visiting the Shen family historical home…
So why after the fire no body except the male character remember them? I don’t understand the screenwriter point.
So he never remarried so he never had kids. This the Shen resident must have been some prominent historical for people in modern day to make a museum or ancestral residency for it…so people remembered them …
He even makes no sense no one remembers after the fire except main male character..
Also did he reincarnate to modern world? All just a dream for both parties?
I actually only few episodes into drama..very confused…she was reborn into a little version of herself with memories of past life..how did she get that book..the title 9 purple book ..?
Xiangliu is just an army man who goes to look for Xiaoyao when he books out of his camp, to go eat nice food,…
I don't think XY is not good enough for him...all the characters so flawed. XL was very flawed...he didn't allow XY to choose or let her know his feelings when he knew she longed and loved him...
what we see is how he sacrificed himself many times for her...he saved her...do I think he hurt her too many times too? Definitely...
But so did XY hurt many people ...like leaving Old Miu without a word..not visiting them..
So, I didnt watch this when it first came out - I waited until season 2 was finished and then watched it all at…
Agree...the FL really wasn't a typical heroine..the whole narrative about her trying to find stability in her life...yet ironically she leaves Old Miu Skinny etc without saying goodbye and never visited them...in essence she also abandoned them...
The ending of the book took the meaning of "lost you forever"...the drama didn't with the ending changes...it was too much to say Fenglong sister was the one to kill Jing ( her intention to kill XY)...it was such a waste of the devasting scenes between CX and XY to turn out to be just a dream...guest the writers didn't want to change into a tragedy..but the meaning of the title no longer there...
plus..make me mad..in the book she and Jing went out to the seas in the end..she mentioned how XL said it was beautiful out there...all that cinematography and talk about the sea in Season 1 (how she spent time with XL there) was a waste in Season 2...it was a drag for 8 chapters about how CX try to keep XY by his side...
In fictional character I could see why she chose Jing also but heck he was the only one willing to show affection.
I loved the XL/FFB character...if she hadn't right in beginning (when she turned back to girl) told XL that "there was a slight rare chance" afraid he be in her dreams and if so he would be too scary to be in her dreams....I think XL may have showed his true feelings.
XL took that comment at heart. It was probably the most painful hurt statement she ever said to him as he never forgot it. Actually its amazing he remember what she said even when she first met him when he thought she was a traitor spy.
I truly believed she loved FBB/XL...as when XL asked her who she wanted to spend rest of life with after he stole her from FL wedding (at this point Jing was out of question) she was too pained to answer....and I was wondering why she so care about the medicine ball..turned out it was for XL with the mermaid/man in it....with the way TJC portrayed XL staring at the ball with satisifcation happiness and amusement...he sensed she longed and cared for him...she waited for him at the sea hoping for some hope out of the wedding......I truly think because XL knew she did care for him deeply.. his logical sense told him more so to be cold to her..and push her away....the true tragedy is that she still misunderstood him at the end...that is why it is so painful ( as everyone including Ah Ni knew XL loved her)..
These Hongjiang and XL lost cause was very frustrating..fighting hundreds of years for lost cause...don't the soldiers long to have a family etc...it frustrated me so much with the stubborness...maybe because they felt so indebted to all the dead comrades who sacrificed their life already and couldnt let go...CX asked so many times for them to surrender and they wouldnt....
I don't know if it was Dengwei's acting or the character of Jing...it was annoying. Jing was supposed to be a brilliant smart character but definitely didn't show it...the writers of the drama downplayed it seem..or it was the acting....all he did was either smile shyfully or sobby eyes most of the time...
I thought at times ZWY acted CX well...like when he was trying to free himself from drug addiciton or when both he and XY was hugging together when FFYY tried to assasinate him...but at other times is it the make up or what just find his lips meanor a little weird..
I think nowadays too much makeup in general though...even TJC XL had too much red pink eye makeup...lol
Yes this director hired good makeup artist etc ..lol

She has baby face but..hairstyle definitely make difference..she looks very young with the straight long hair ..and clothing
Do you think they use filter though? For her ..at 42 no big wrinkles etc ..
In the drama they didn’t get married but he was about 27 then?
How about when they married and he was professor and she brought flowers to him? Does anyone have link?
She takes him in when he is 19 and she is 28? At 21 he falls in love with her and they date briefly until they break up . About 6 years later at 27 he returns China?
Drama age gap 9? In real life I have seen that ..
