Ok just caught up to ep18. I know I am in the minority but still loving MX and WJG together, they have good chemistry. When MX ask if this is a dream, I thought too, is this one of your daydreams Moxi lol.. I had to do a double take to look at the corners of the screen. I loved how he carried her and he now appreciates her.

Yeah it was bound to get messy. The book is pretty messy, they have even toned it down but if you change certain things like I mentioned before on a different post to make it more palatable, like someone pointed out to me, then you are actually creating a new drama that's not the book.

I think the problem with Mo Xi a bit, is she truly doesn’t value herself. In her head she thinks she can’t break BYF’s heart or path. She hasn't realized that she can go for the guy and that would be less hurtful for all involved. I see it in small things like when they moved to the academy, she stopped BYF from cleaning and said she would do it. In my head I was thinking come on Mo Xi you are equal. She can clean too. She almost relegated herself to the role of being a maid, also puts herself in harms way. Like when she went to stop the assassination since BYF wanted to herself, she locked her sister away and it was ok to her if she dies, as long as BYF is safe. She didn’t initially tell her sister because she would not have approved about hiding him. And then later on the engagement was cancelled and her sister was sad. I believe she will do the right thing for the sake of BYF, she will ultimately put her sister first in the end and be heartbroken.
Feeling accomplished today. My first ever change submission. 😊 I submitted a change to MDL yesterday about Moxi/ Zhang Nan, being listed first since she is the main and people kept asking. And they changed it! I think it will also help people set expectations who are hard core fans of Wang Yu Wen to not get disappointed when they don’t see much screen time in the early episodes.

This was me from the very beginning, I can't unsee the sweet moments between Mo Xi and WJG. They should have had a completely different man for BFY. Maybe they should have wrote Wu Yin to be the one for BFY. Or if they really wanted that love line, BFY should have been the one to save WJG and risk her life for him, but I guess with BFY's character she wouldn't have been able to do that, she would have just handed him in to the authorities.

I haven't read the novel, but comments from other novel readers say he raped her in the novel and also tried to do the same with the sister first, with that knowledge there is no turning it to love for me. So glad they are changing that bit in the drama.
In the novel, Mo Xi hadn't wanted to learn how to read or write.
I am confused now in ep14 Moxi is saying she read in books about the the daughter of someone, in the palace stuff they are talking about with the principal, yet she couldn't read that letter. I guess like you say she has some but not fully developed, hope for the drama she gets to a level she fully literate. She could be helping earn money with those skills.
