The offense is because of the stereotype this drama creates and re-enforces through it’s fiction that’s what people will associate people Africans with. No idea if you have left Nairobi and studied and worked in the US or somewhere in Europe? You may meet people who think all of the African continent is a jungle or all black people from the continent are poor and they ask you stupid questions which turn into micro aggressions. And also turns into racism. This mindset is created by dramas like this. Not everyone thinks beyond the drama about a certain place they haven’t been or study. You will also find a lot of people raising this issue here are also Africans and even though you r fine with it you can not speak for all. People are different that’s why they shouldn’t just say Africa. It’s a huge continent with different countries, cultures, languages and beliefs.

It reminded me of Legend of Fuyao, she also learnt the moves in a similar way.

You keep doubling down comparing a whole continent to a country and even city? You don't even realize how minimizing that is- you are refusing to see what it implies and don't actually want to know by all your responses. I mean you can have someone who lives in South Africa and another Morocco as an example of how vast the continent is and the difference in culture and languages etc . These countries have their own cities too. It's really baffling that you refuse to understand what we are saying and you displayed the exact thing we are talking about with the drama by picking countries even cities to start and now a state to compare the whole of Africa with. You totally miss the point, in fact you are proving one of the things we say the drama is doing wrong, Africa is a continent not a country or city. You are comparing putting ML in Tibet instead of "Africa", you didn't say Asia but Tibet. You say Detriot not North America, Brazil not South America.

Agree with this, totally deliberate. It even said in one of the early episode narrations- where ever BFX is you would be sure to find HFX. ML already fell hard some time in the past that we didn't get to see.

If its not relevant to the drama it wouldn't have been in the drama for us to see and wouldn't have come out in the comments, everyone has the right to comment in this section about what they like and don't like in the drama whether you like it or not.

It’s not been ignored by some of us. If you look in the earlier comments you will see the outrage. So disappointed in some people’s counter comments saying people pointing this ignorance out are ‘triggered’ or “over sensitive”.

Your logic is so flawed just because the West did something wrong doesn't mean it should be repeated. People should aim to do better for a better kinder world. It's really saddening to read some of these comments minimizing this. It may seem minor to you but its really becoming a small trend in some modern K and C dramas, I have dropped a few because of this, one was about a virus in some place in "Africa" like seriously yet COVID started in China , a few mentioned threatening their kid- with a punishment to send them to "Africa" - implication is its the worst place to go. These seem minor but create a terrible narrative in peoples mind. Dramas have more power than you think. It seems some of these dramas want to create a narrative that they are better than Africa which is a dangerously close to white supremacy. Using the word "triggered" is really upsetting to see in your comment its really not a just a drama media is powerful. Look how Trump became president because he was a household name, even the Ukrainian president was first a comedian. Its so powerful that's why its heavily regulated by some gvts, just because you may know the representation is false doesn't mean the masses who watch the dramas think it is false. There is poverty in Asia they should highlight that and leave the continent of Africa alone if they have nothing positive to show.

You can't take one person's opinion as the representation of all Africans. Thats why it's important to realize its a continent not a country even within a country people's views differ.
