I too am actually enjoying this arc. YQ has consistently been a surprising character. I really thought he has killed those beauties for CP but he hadn’t.

One tonight, it was a good episode but wish I had waited to watch 2 episodes. You will understand YQ more, also interesting twist as much as he hates his father he has become his father in a way.
In order to save her from CP in the event of MJH’s plan going wrong SML named her as the goddess, the father is into that immortality spiritual stuff so if he didn’t come back with her yet she was the named one, he would have killed his son. So in her mind she is just doing it to save YQ since he did that to save her.
MJH and YQ made some deal though she is not aware of that the other herb that is needed to cure her fully seems to grow only in Xiyan. Once she is cured she can choose who she wants to be with.
I think he didn't necessarily plan to kill Mei Lin, there's a short flashback scene in an earlier episode where…
He initially did plan for her to die. she was the only one worthy to die with him, he said in some early episode. It’s only when his plan changed did he start to look for an antidote.

Yes he did. He also made the plans with MJH, he wouldn't have been able to take her without his consent/help. Conversation is in ep22, starts around 19:24 if you are watching on kisskh. People should generally stop making plans for others lol...
