She didn't misunderstand. She didn't want anyone else to be bait, so even to protect her that puts her friends at risk. She had just lost Dai. ML's heart is in the place of protecting her , her heart is to protect her friends too, just like ML is protecting those he likes. He could have been honest about it when asked. I think a lot of people are missing the reason why FL is upset in episode 13. She didn't jump to the wrong conclusion and she has a right to be upset: 1. She asked ML if he had burnt those ladies in an earlier episode, he said NO 2.She told him she had burnt herself so she can be bait, as she didn't want another innocent person to die like Dai had, the girl who had made her those red cakes I need to try. 3. I suspect if ML had been honest about what he had done she would not have been this upset, FL has always been brutally honest with him and not hiding anything. 4. She actually told him how can you say you are avenging the lives taken by killing innocent people in the process 5. ML burning them was killing them, because CP wanted to kill the girls with the burnt marks on them that's why she wanted to be the bait. She didn't want more of her friends dying which is normal even if you an assassin, u do not use your friends as bait. 6. ML would not knowingly put his people in harms way without them knowing what is at stake, but his action did put FL's friends at risk without them knowing. FL lost her whole family and friends, these new bonds mean a lot to her.She is already socially awkward so can imagine if she is "close" to people she takes that seriously. 7. She knows CP was the one who "killed" them, she is upset that ML lied and that he put them in that position to be killed. That is why she is still upset even after knowing they are still alive. Collaboration needs honesty. Yue Qin obviously knows FL's values and used this opportunity to rat out ML and score points by being the one who saves the girls. He is much more strategic than I thought he would be.

It is still her right to be angry that is her character she does not exist just to agree with ML’s methods, those are her friends and her values. She is allowed to draw her own boundaries and the friends did survive so she can continue to be hopeful to get revenge without causing harm to innocent people.

He would have been to blame for the deaths because he injured them. CP wanted to kill the injured ladies. She is upset he put them in that position and lied that he hadn’t too.

I did recognize it. Putting those injuries does put them in harms way. She was more upset with that because she had just lost a friend that way and ML had also said it was CP who had injured them yet it was him. She does value honesty even though she is a pawn. I am glad she does still keep her humanity and doesn’t want to just hurt everyone and anyone for her revenge. It’s enough for ML to be like that and she slowly brings him to that side.
