Just look up any research on the topic...? Maybe look into the film called "The Birth of a Nation" and how the things presented in it completely changes public understanding of reality and racial ideas. And this "mentally disabled person=murderous/creep/weirdo" is in every single kdrama of crime type story. They are pushing this and it's why support for diabilities and mental illness is so awful in South Korea.
in the very last episode it is explained that he's been faking his disabilities all along.
I don't see why you think that changes anything. They've still set the assumption that people with disabilities= murderous creeps, as korean dramas love to push. Maybe pay attention to this in future dramas and you can come to realize how prevalent and harmful it is.
It's been clearly shown he's been faking right from Ep 6. He normally speaks with a stutter but during the cold…
It literally does not matter that he is faking, jfc. They are still propagating the assumption that people with mental disabilities are murderous/rapist/creeps by nature. Stop making excuses.
One of the things i love about the Korean industry and writers is that they never let any shallow trait of the…
This isn't the way it works at all. Nearly every crime drama, the murderer ends up being someone with mental disabilities. How do you think this changes public perception? If it was all black people, or all old women, it would set idea of what those people are like for people who don't know them. Your response to me shows you have no experience with this and are viewing it from an outsider perspective, you literally have no idea how harmful it is so how can you talk about it not being so?
I saw it won an award for best drama so I tried it. I think it's alright. but sorry, the "twist" of the serial killer being a shy stuttering type guy is so harmful to people with these disabilities and this show is trash for continuing that.
All korea hated this drama, so i think they know better than us. Its not our business.
We have things much worse than this in the west, though? Like the Avatar The Last Airbender movie was white washed and ruined, and yet it wasn't wiped out from existence. This is censorship, and guess what, it's bad!!
That's not a right-wing concept. Right wing=limited government. Left=strong, centralized government. You can look…
LOL. No. This is what the right loves to claim, that they are for limited government, but it's always the opposite. They love to control through the government. Why do you think they put in religion into the government, make sexualities illegal, make recreational drug use illegal? I think you need to research more into right wing propaganda because it looks like you fall for it.
If it was right wing then how did a conservative president in South Korea just get ousted? It's the start of communism…
You clearly don't understand the nuances of Korean politics. People absolutely hate Moon Jae-In and have turned to extreme alt-right US style right wing ideologies.
SBS really fucked up by cancelling Joseon Exorcist. They set an incredibly bad precedent that any small number of angry right wingers can have something cancelled for existing, even when clearly labelled as fiction. South Korea has been on a rocky path with Right Wing extremism and it's only getting worse.
