I don't know if it's just me but I think those elements are a part of their cinema. Even they like to overreacting in horror/ comedy and also, not in cinema but also in TV show with the drummers.
I don't know if I'm used to it but this is why I enjoy it even more their movies / series. Or maybe, it's because, it's overused that indeed, it becomes an old style...

It's a bit slow placed but I liked it, it's an interesting aspect of the cuisine and I also like the progress / development of the story overall.
Maybe a bit cliche but still, it was kind of realistic to emphasize two social class with the the perception of the food).

It's really light, not really serious and about eating. In fact, they could show some serious problems but they handle it in a funny way.
And the main problem is eng sub (sometimes it's not synchronized so you'll end up being confused) but if you can understand thai, you can be able to follow the story.
