I don't know if it's just me but I think those elements are a part of their cinema. Even they like to overreacting in horror/ comedy and also, not in cinema but also in TV show with the drummers.
I don't know if I'm used to it but this is why I enjoy it even more their movies / series. Or maybe, it's because, it's overused that indeed, it becomes an old style...

It's a bit slow placed but I liked it, it's an interesting aspect of the cuisine and I also like the progress / development of the story overall.
Maybe a bit cliche but still, it was kind of realistic to emphasize two social class with the the perception of the food).
