Yeah, I have watched lakorn for several years (but I took a break and I was fond of korean dramas) and since I understand a little, I didn't find subtitles and it's no doubt that many are like you, watching recently, that's why I think it's also one of the reason thai dramas are not really popular. I agree, recently it begins to have some thai movies and dramas (it's quite different from the older one) and I think, it has modernized and want maybe to target international viewers. Anyway, i'm glad there is people who are watching thais dramas or have started to be interested in thai cinema in general :)

Yes, you are right. It's a pity they don't provide subs like for example korean dramas. before, I think it's because maybe it was local, doesn't want to target international viewers. But I don't really know if BL genre was a part of the popularity of international viewers. And I know, not all international fans watch BLs but I think as you said, GMMTV or other channels are on youtube so it's quite easy to watch.

I think it's a problem bringing traditional thai dramas or thai themselves that they enjoy or enjoyed. It's not like korean, chinese and japanese dramas.

What I mean is, before watching thai BL, it was so different and the problem is also about raping, forcing...and there are remake...
