OH, SWEET CELESTIAL BEINGS, HELP ME! I CAN'T BREATHE! (Okay, maybe I exaggerated a tiny bit. But the drama was necessary!)

A MIRACLE! A COSMIC INTERVENTION! A WHIRLWIND OF FATE! It's like the universe itself heard my desperate cries (and, let's be honest, my slightly rant from yesterday) and said, "Hold up! We gotta fix this!" Because, by some magnificent, unbelievable, utterly flabbergasting twist of fate, the DARK SORCERER GJM HIMSELF (yes, the GJM!) heard my plea! And not only heard it, but answered it!

And the answer? The radiant, the glorious, the utterly breathtaking arrival of... drumroll please ... WHITE HAIRED WU WANGYAN! faints dramatically OMG! She descended upon us like a vision! A goddess! An ethereal being of pure, unadulterated fabulousness! She was... gasp ...BEDAZZLING! Absolutely, positively, mind-blowingly, spectacularly BEDAZZLING! I swear, my eyeballs nearly popped out of my head and rolled down the street! I'm still trying to pick my jaw up off the floor! This is NOT a drill, people! This is REAL LIFE! (Or, at least, my version of it.)

You're right, it's not really a secret that GJM has a known bias. It's frustrating to see, especially when it affects a character's development like this. I understand that there are various reasons why actors might choose to work with certain directors, even with known issues, but it doesn't make the situation any less frustrating for the fans.

And you're right, it's definitely a fear of repetition for CDL stans. We've seen this happen before, and it's disheartening to see it potentially happening again. That's why so many fans are concerned about the lack of promotion and diverse scenes.

I do plan on watching the drama, but my concern is more about the process of making the show and the lack of promotion, not just the final product. I agree, from what little we have seen, the character seems very interesting. That is why it is so frustrating to see the lack of promotion, because I want to see her character fleshed out. I am also excited about the potential of the character, and hope that she will be well fleshed out.

Honestly, I've also hoped GJM and Yu Zheng would get banned, because they're totally terrible people in the industry. But to get them banned, we'd also have to sacrifice the drama our favorites are in, and that's a tough trade-off. That's why I think there's still a barrier to banning them. Plus, all of us here are indirectly supporting GJM by hyping the drama, and their insider connections definitely make it harder to hold them accountable.

Okay, so about those Reuters... I messed up a bit there. It's not that there is a lack of reuters, because there is a lot. It's just that when she films outside, yeah, tons of stuff pops up, but it's usually the same scenes, just from different angles. So, it looks like there's not much happening with her character. We dont really upload it here since most of her reuters are videos and especially since not a ton of Dudu fans are hanging out on MDL following the filming.

But here's the thing that's bugging me: we're getting zero variety from the director, GJM. It's like Dudu's stuck in that wedding scene forever. We're not seeing her character grow, Compare that to Rui and Jiji, who are getting all these different scenes, showing their emotional journeys. We're just not seeing that for Dudu and Joseph. They're always with the group, fighting or just stading there there isnt much going on and it's hard to get a real feel for their characters. And we have no idea what Shiguang is even about.

And to top it off, GJM hasn't posted any original shots of Dudu since December, even the one posted is always her with somebody else and not her alone. but he's all about promoting the other couple. It just feels like he's not giving her and joseph character the attention it deserves. Afterall people tend to hype up the original frame since its original material from the production.

It's hard to pick just a few standout Dudu performances, as she brings something unique to every role. Beyond vos, I've primarily followed fof and The Glory filming, though not as closely as VOS. Therefore, I'm not as familiar with all her past projects filming period and what they promised her to deliver to make a truly comprehensive comparison. Also, it feels unfair to compare roles where she was the undisputed lead with roles that has an ensemble cast like VOS, where there are four main characters.

However, considering these factors, I was quite satisfied with her role in Guzhou (alhj) While Guzhou also had multiple leads, Zhang Haimo's character was exceptionally well-written. Her backstory was compelling, and all her decisions throughout the drama felt organic and consistent with her established personality. Even her choice to return at the end, which could have been controversial, felt believable because we understood her motivations. The production also gave her appropriate screen time, respecting the other main characters while never making Haimo feel absent or neglected. Her appearances felt perfectly timed, and they didn't skimp on her screen time or styling. Haimo's costumes were also thoughtfully chosen and contributed to the character's portrayal.

What impressed me most was how seamlessly Haimo was integrated into the main plot of Guzhou Even though her role wasn't technically as a spy (unlike some of the other characters), her story arc flowed naturally within the larger narrative. Integrating a non-spy character into a spy drama main arc can be challenging, but they incorporated Haimo beautifully, never making her feel insignificant or detached from the central plot. Guzhou achieved something remarkable by crafting a female character who, despite lacking the typical spy traits (fighting, plotting, strategizing), was incredibly compelling and likeable, earning the audience's support. Both Wenxiao and Haimo are compassionate and intelligent, but not fighters. Yet, while Wenxiao in FoF often elicits pity due to her being not well written and often feels overshadowed by her stronger companion, Haimo stands tall and proud among the other powerful characters in Guzhou.

Dudu's performance as Haimo is a personal favorite of mine. "Guzhou" allowed her to showcase a wide range of emotions, from nervousness and ease to grief, unwavering determination, dedication, courage, anger, and even compassion and love for Yizhong. I was very pleased that Haimo was such a well-rounded, four-dimensional character that truly did Dudu justice.

I understand that JJY fans haven't been complaining, and that's perfectly fine. Everyone has different priorities. While acting and the role are definitely crucial, for some fans, costume design and overall presentation contribute to their enjoyment and perception of a character. It's not about saying one is more important than the other, but rather acknowledging that both can be factors in how viewers connect with a drama. Different fans value different aspects, and that's perfectly valid. Plus, the number of costumes can be an indicator of screen time. GJM likely wouldn't invest in elaborate costumes only to have those scenes cut. So, it's not just about the clothes themselves, but what they might represent in terms of a character's overall presence in the story. It's perfectly okay if you don't want to discuss it💖, but others are valid to voice their concerns. This isn't about Dudu vs. Jiji; it's about holding GJM accountable. A production shouldn't be immune to criticism.

Even with a lot of filming left, Dudu and especially Joseph's current costume count is a little lower than the other leads. While I'm hoping things even out as we go, it does make me a tad concerned about their overall representation if this pattern continues. And with us being halfway through, we haven't seen nearly enough of the WuWu pairing. I'm still holding out hope for the best, but I'll admit, I'm finding it a little harder to stay fully engaged with the drama at the moment.

I will absolutely support Dudu when this drama airs. However, I may step back from following the filming process, as i dont have the patience that dudu has for GJM. I apologize if my previous comments came across negatively, but I want to assure everyone that it wasn’t my intention to be negative but these kind of conversations is needed and my frustration is directed solely at GJM and not at any member of the cast.

I hoped so too, just hope all the filming goes smoothly and no delays. very much looking forward to her next project since all her melons are pretty good.

I appreciate the objective costume count,and I understand you're trying to be fair. However, my concern for Dudu goes beyond just the number of outfits. It's about the perceived disparity in treatment among the leads, which is a valid concern for any fan. While I'm happy Jiji and others have beautiful costumes, the fact remains that Dudu, despite being billed equally, has fewer costumes and fewer Reuters documenting her looks. This lack of documentation makes it difficult to have a complete picture, fueling anxieties. And from past experience following gjm filming this no reuters is definitely very concerning. It's not just about the raw number, but the implication of unequal attention.

You mention versatility, and while Dudu's looks are distinct, Qing Yi is a flashback, unlikely to span even a full episode. Wangyan's bride and "evil" bride looks likely occur within a single day. Again implying less screen time. We've seen this before with GJM – extensive filming for Dudu's Ao Yin scenes in FoF for days, only for them to be very drastically cut in the final edit to be so short. This history makes fans wary. It's not about comparing actresses; it's about GJM's pattern of potentially favoring certain characters/actors with more screen time and promotion. We've already seen signs of this with the current drama's official materials heavily favoring Jilu.

Ultimately, fans want their favorites to be treated with respect and equality, especially when equal billing is promised. I think its within reason to feel uneasy when that doesn't seem to be reflected in the available information. This isn't about attacking other actors; it's about holding GJM accountable for his words and equitable treatment and addressing legitimate concerns. Dismissing these worries simply because one's own favorite seems well-treated doesn't invalidate the feelings of other fans who have valid reasons to be concerned. We're not going to shy away from discussing this just because it's uncomfortable. The focus here is GJM's potential bias, not the other actors.

I'm beyond exhausted and frustrated with GJM's blatant disregard for Dudu. It's truly disheartening. Even Jiji has received a styling change, so why is Dudu consistently overlooked? I dont care even if it were justified by the storyline, but seeing her stuck with the same styling is just heartbreaking. Especially knowing with so little styling change she might receive less screen time. And the way he's hyping Jilu while completely neglecting the WuWu pairing is the last straw (im happy for jilu but still heartbroken for wuwu).

It's incredibly frustrating to see your favorite artist treated this way, especially when it's not an isolated incident. Remember when Jiji got that stunning lilac hanfu, and Dudu was just given the same one she wears for her pipa performances? GJM, are you seriously going to be this blatantly unfair? I'm genuinely heartbroken and seriously considering dropping this drama altogether. It's just too much; the constant frustration is affecting me negatively, and I feel so helpless. Honestly, I just hope Dudu refuses any future projects with him and avoids him like the plague, even if he pursues her to the ends of the earth (like he did for this drama). If I could, I'd shield her from this awful person entirely.
