Okay, that's what I was getting from the first few episodes. I was so confused, because the rebirth storyline is so essential to the plot??? It completely changes the dynamic between Chu Yu and Wei Yun, and not really for the better, imo. And Gu Chu Sheng's character arc seems completely changed too, since he wasn't reborn either. Cryyyy.

This is based off of the novel Mountain and River Pillow, right? How true is it to the source material?

Just wondering, for anyone who's watched this on Netflix, the last 30 seconds (after all of the credits) look like a teaser for an anime. Does anyone know which one? I tried Googling it but couldn't find anything besides Onmyoji, which doesn't look like the same one teased at the end of the movie.

It isn't available in my country, and I haven't found one that does work through my VPN.

Sorry I can't remember, it's been too long since I've seen it and I've watched too many other things since.

Lu Xiao and Jang Ke Le, Xu Nian and Guan Qian Ya, Luo Ke and Ke Le's coworker at the makeup store, and Su Lie with some random girl we meet in the last 5 or so episodes.

Wow I have whiplash from this drama. We went from cute romance to action to sci-fi to thriller back to cute romance then a hard right back into major sci-fi and then finally ending on fluff with all loose ends tied in a too-neat of a bow to be true. It's a roller coaster ride of a drama, that's for sure. The amount of plot twists has to be a record, istg.

FYI for everyone looking for it, Kissasian has all the episodes subbed in English. Some of the episodes have funky timings, or randomly start subbing in a different language, but I was able to find those on Dramacool (which I suspect might also have the full series).

Did they really just make a cliffhanger in the LAST FIVE MINUTES OF THE SHOW

It looks like it's the unedited footage, judging from the counter at the top of that scene. It'll probably be subbed for the actual drama.

Ugh I couldn't agree more. I enjoyed the show up until that point. I've literally rated it around 3.5/10 because I was so disappointed (and also because they don't let you differentiate the ratings like they do when you're reviewing it... that I know of). I still can't believe they're making a 2nd season.
