One of the most useless Kdrama plots of all time. We were baited, thinking there was finally a Kdrama that doesn’t end in some dreamy “they’re perfect for each other” way. Why adapt a Webtoon that focused on toxic relationships and twist it into whatever this became? I expected them to leave each other not this. Waste of a plot
omgosh thank you for your comments and review. You hit the nail on the end and I totally feel you when you said…
Thank you :) and exactly. It’s not a drama for everyone but calling it overrated rather than seeing why it’s loved got annoying but it’s not going to change how many loved it
Lol lately this drama was getting a lot of negative reviews. I'm glad there's still people who like it. Hope you're…
Thank you for asking, I’m definitely doing well after this drama opened my eyes to a parent’s unique love. That’s why I had to write a review. Too many people find popular dramas an easy target for negativity to stand out from a crowd. They overlook the true message of the show to trash stupid things like mun Yeong or it being “unrealistic”. I’ve learned to accept because I’ve realized that, the same way people in the drama judged Mun Yeong, people irl will too. This Kdrama is one of the most loved in 2020 and has been praised by many critics which imo matters more than the bias found in the Kdrama fandom. Don’t understand why people can’t let others enjoy without constantly bringing it down lol. It was a Kdrama that combined reality with fairytales and it touched more people. Popularity weeds in larger negativity but it’s not a portrayal of the reality of the Kdrama. Anyone reading this that hasn’t watched, please start it on your own and form your own opinions rather than relying on others.
Love love love your comment. I created my account for similar reasons as yours, couldn't have put it in better…
Thank you!! I can relate to your final sentence. I have kdramas that I love so much but the connection I built with this made it impossible to move on.
I’ve only created this account to compliment this drama. This drama is not perfect in terms of some slight plot holes, but it’s perfect for healing. I’m scared I won’t be able to put across what I feel but I’ll try my best. I started 4 eps after it aired and was intrigued by the unique visuals and heart pounding chemistry. Ko Mun Yeong was also phenomenal and I already loved SYJ from Save Me. This Kdrama came when I needed it. I wasn’t getting along with my parents and I was falling into depression. When I watched episode 4, I knew letting go would be hard. Zombie child resonated with me. A child who needed warmth more than anything. As Gang tae opened his eyes to his pain, so did I. As Gang tae realized his mother had not abandoned him and showed love differently, so did I. I cried when he did and I grew alongside him and the others. Without this Kdrama, I probably would have never seen things from my parents perspective too and I’m thankful it helped me restore the relationship. It hurts seeing people calling it overrated and constantly compare other dramas with it just to trash it. I’ve built such a connection that it feels like an insult towards myself. People need to realize this: this drama was focused towards healing, not action or thriller. It delivered it well till the very end. 10/10 kdramas don’t have to have impeccable writing with no flaws (although I thought the writing was amazing). They just need to deliver their message well and hit your heart in ways no other did. A human healing drama with unique characters and crazy chemistry. Don’t enter the story searching for some OCN plot driven Kdrama. Enter it as a soul or child who’s broken and heal alongside them. That is why this Kdrama deserves all its hype. Not liking something doesn’t equal to it being overrated. Also, make sure your empathetic eyes are open too otherwise you’ll criticize things that already got explained though the characters. In particular, our unique Mun Yeong.
