It was even good paced in my opinion if it weren't for the slow streaming. 12 episodes in 3 months ...... ouch.…
100%. I'm planning to rewatch it from the beginning before I finally watch episode 12. Even IF you haven't forgotten details, the pacing of the story—which is neither too slow nor too fast, imo, it's just right—has been completely ruined for regular viewers by the constant delays. It's a shame. :(
someone somewhere at SBS really didn't want this drama to do well hgjhjk the constant delays have absolutely murdered a drama that would've otherwise done quite well. they hate to see a revenge story thriving!!
Wait, I thought Thomas already left from Duon Village? And someone remind me again, why Wook and Pan Seok can see…
Thomas did leave; when we see him it is in flashbacks, as Il Young met him before his body was uncovered at Amok in the end run of S1. They met a year prior to the current events, as per episode one.
As for why they can see it...why they could see the Village to begin with...near-death, or rather died-briefly-and-were-brought-back-to-life experiences left them with a certain sensitivity. That was Thomas’ theory. It’s also why Il Young can see and enter all those places, because he is hovering right there, between death and life. Wook and Pan Seok it seems can only see places they are personally connected with; Wook could see Duon because his mother was there and Pan Seok because his daughter’s remains they were nearby, was the S1 theory, but I think it might be a bit deeper than that. I think they are tangled together by fate, not just the two of them but Il Young too — Wook’s recurring dream is what Il Young sees when he is close to consciousness in his artificially induced coma.
God, episode 8 was SUCH an emotional roller-coaster. I went from relief that Ji Woong and Man Gu are both alright to laughing my head off over their incredibly cute incredibly married “don’t be sick or if you are let’s be sick together OK :(” moment to a deep apprehension...and finally THAT.
I felt the death flag drape over Tae Ho tighter and tighter as the runtime went on...I was so afraid Choi will kill him on Sang Woo’s orders...but no it’s Na Na, it’s his damn wife again. The man has been so loyal, so consistent, he cares for her even after all she’s put him through and she just...God, I have no words. She’s irredeemable. And while his feelings for Hee Joo were one-sided and unacted upon, it’s no wonder he had them.
As someone else said, if he’s dead for good, it’s for the better. Though I wish he could’ve walked away from Na Na and found peace and quiet somewhere...I definitely think she arranged Hee Joo’s death, maybe even BECAUSE she knew the suspect would ultimately be her brother.
Also, god, let Ji Hyuk be OK. I hope instead of turning his anger toward himself again he turns it outward and hunts her even more doggedly for trying to use his mother’s suicide.
I don’t think he’s alive. I’m actually wondering if maybe she and Hye Soo are lovers and she did it for…
Yes, I know those two are having an affair, and I’m aware of how much she despises her husband. I missed that it was Dongrim, somehow. Thanks for clarifying. :) It must be as Ms. Kwon assumed, then. That Yoon recommended Wooshin to throw a wrench into the household. Though the way Yoon smiled after leaving Ms. Kwon’s room had me, and still has me, thinking there’s more to it.
Can't figure why she(secretary) recommended Woo Shin. I mean is she on the good side or gonna stick up with the…
I don’t think he’s alive. I’m actually wondering if maybe she and Hye Soo are lovers and she did it for her. I say this because we saw Hye Soo pick out that pale pink dress from the ones the chairman had sent her for dinner, then saw secretary Yoon receive that same dress as a gift...and there was someone who snuck into Hye Soo’s room late at night, whom she was happy to see, right after that scene.
Technically, they aren’t. It’s almost blink-and-you’ll-miss-it, but when the housekeeper gets Wooshin’s medical records you can see that his legal name is listed as Song Woo Shin; likewise when a background check is done on him, they mention this, and that he uses his mother’s surname professionally.
This one’s actually so fun. I wouldn’t even call it “slow-paced,” that constantly suffocating atmosphere Wooshin is in makes the runtime go quickly. There’s no particular breathing room, either, since everyone’s scheming all the fucking time. The plot’s convoluted and I’ll pass judgment on whether or not it withstands scrutiny once it’s finished airing, but like. Right now it’s fun, I’m full of questions, it’s keeping me engaged.
And I actually like the titular arrow lmao. It’s so excessive. A gold arrow with a diamond tip, entirely too heavy to be used as anything except a blunt, crude murder weapon...it’s poetic. In and outside the text, it tells you everything you need to know about the chairman.
