Title Doom at Your Service Spoiler
So in the contract if she doesn't wish for doom her loved one will die, right? since we all know it gonna be him,…
It really depends, doesn't it? When she wishes for doom, does it have to be the doom of the entire world or can it be something smaller and less destructive. Did the show state that clearly? I might have missed it, annoying lol. So yeah, could she wish foor a tiny doom to spare her loved one and everyone else with semantics? ...Or does calling for Doom/him just mean that she can call him to fulfill a wish? He asked her a couple times "Is that your wish?" when she said bad things about her ex boyfriend for example.

The acting in Episode 2 is fine, but the living room GSD/SY scene shows clear non-consent, IMO. Upon re-watching,…
I'm also old, as in I was alive in the 80's kind of old. I've seen that scene several times too.

Shu Yi asks Shi De to stop with the dramatics twice. The strongest "NO" to his touch I saw, was when he tried to twist himself away after Shi De kissed his neck. I don't think Shu Yi looks scared, although I see how and where you might think he does. I think that expression is intently searching, full of puzzlement and anger. From the beginning Shu Yi observes Shi De like he is under a microscope trying to figure out why Shi De is feeling or doing any of this when, in Shu Yi's mind, he left Shu Yi for a woman.

Shu Yi is trying to resist his own feelings more than Shi De's actions. He kisses Shi De back in the beginning and then tries not to, because Shu Yi doesn't want to admit, to himself or Shi De, he still has feelings, the feelings Shi De asked about.

The hand over Shu Yi's face was uncomfortable to look at. The intent was "please can we not talk right now", and it would have felt less distressing if it had just been a finger on the lips or something. The way Shi De covered half of his face, besides evoking a visceral reaction, also obscured Shu Yi's reactions unnecessarily. Shu Yi continued to do battle with his own feelings; do I admit I Iove Shi De, or do I make him stop.

The whole scene is supposed to be uncomfortable and sad, complicated and emotional.
The song that they play is Unbreakable Love, to me it just denotes that they both still have feelings for each other. In conclusion, the scene is not pretty, but I don't think it is as rapey as you think.

i need suggestions now.. hard core romance any language any country BB or BG..anything..but romance, more intense…
This is a totally random suggestion but have you seen "Lost in Austen", a four-part 2008 British television series for the ITV network. It's a fantasy adaptation of Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. Amanda, a woman from modern London, enters the plot of the novel through a portal in her bathroom, to join the Bennet family and affect events disastrously. She pretty much takes the place of Elizabeth Bennet, only she is a surprise guest at their household. It's on youtube, I think.

The WBL novels are available for purchase on Google Play. They are in Chinese, but people have used the translator embedded in the reading program to read them in English. You can find them by googling: google play+wbl1 and google play+wbl2. The translations are somewhat messy (autogenerated?), so you might find them a bit difficult to read. Just a friendly WARNING, be aware of the language issue, if you decide to buy them!

Over all, it was messy, but not a bad ending to this season. Although, I was really disappointed about the incorrect…
I think PSY falsely described himself as completly emotionless to get rid of YZX. In the intro to episode 6 he says "I can't push him away, or lie to myself anymore." So, wasn't it more like PSY was unwilling to deal with any feelings he migh have had?? PSY did jealously guard items he associated with YZX, like the mug and noodles, just like YZX kept that crate of PSY's stuff as a memento because of his feelings for PSY. Anyway, I'm also confused.

I think SWOS would be called erotica which is basically porn tbh. That's not what I was referring to. A good novel can be titillating or not, it totally depends on how the story is told. I guess I was trying to say I don't understand when reviewers fail to see emotional connection or character development in well written smexy times.

Yeah, misogyny is a gift that keeps on giving. You have contempt for the effeminate gay guy, while at the same time force heteronormative stereotypes on gay people. It's all so freaking logical.

I'm still hoping this series might have something good to say, even if it's just very little among all the antics. That stepbrother is perceptive, but that doesn't negate the fact that he is also a rapey stalker. Can't really see how they'd be able to redeem that. I'm interested in what they are going to do with MR and LC.

I read MM book reviews on goodreads so as not to go in blind. Helps filter out the worst of it, the problem at this point is the ones that complain about too much sex no emotional connection. Often it feels like we didn't even read the same book, because I saw a lot of emotional connection, lol.

I swear The debate is alive and well, you can beat it down the ground, it's still going to be there. I know some…
I’m more familiar with Western MM romance than BL and yaoi. There can be stupid stuff in MM (I’ve probably read hundreds in the last 10 years), but I was shocked by the sex scene in the first BL/yaoi I read. It was rape, it read like a twisted deflowering of a female at that. I was pretty much dazed for a whole day trying to process it all. I understand that there is a tradition of routinely feminizing one character, and apparently a bit of an obsession with seme/uke, personally I don’t like any of that.

However, the only way I could make some sense of it was thinking about the analysis of the first (1970’s) FM bodice rippers, where the heroine was basically raped to begin the, so called, hot part of the relationship, because women were not supposed to be sexual beings, they had to be forced. Women were not allowed to say NO, but they were not allowed to say YES either. So, a complete erasure of personal autonomy was called romance, Yuck.

Personally I don't need everything to be squeaky clean, I'm okay with nuance and can watch and read stuff I disagree with, up to a point. Like I will watch this series, and I even read the rest of that BL novel, mostly because I only had a few pages left, but I'm not reading anything by that author again. I suppose all this is on a continuum and we can just hope for better representation and more awareness from both the audience and the creators.

I want an extended cut of the whole season (and why not season 1 too)! They dared to leave out the part where Shu Yi saw Shi De's 67th email to him. Shu Yi's gaze was all soft and he sat on Shi De's lap to look at it. They made me cry, and it wasn't even in the episode. I'm feeling pretty grumpy.
On We Best Love: Fighting Mr. 2nd Mar 27, 2021
It seems like they tried to make the storyline reflect a more cyclical or circular (often also considered Asian) time concept, rather than a more straightforward linear (often also considered Western) one. Cyclical time means that the past is the contextual basis for present decisions, you think long term and can feel more restricted as opposed to linear time where indecision and inaction means that time has just been wasted for no reason.

If time is seen to be more cyclical than linear, time is not wasted, it comes back around again in a circle, where the same opportunities and risks repeat themselves when people are years wiser. Cyclical time is when you say: If I had known then what I know now, I would never have done that.

The second season looks cyclical to me. The past and the present are intertwined. The intro in the first episode literally says the young are easily discouraged. Shu Yi too easily believes Shi De has chosen a woman over him, and Shi De is too insecure to trust in Shu Yi’s forever. There are a several parallels in what they do and say, like literally repeating lines now they are older and wiser. They filmed several shots depicting self-reflection, meaning the face of the character reflects back from a window, surface of a table etc. There are flash backs. We are given a part of the answer to why they lost touch, then the story goes forward and then circle back again for more revelations. They underline the older and wiser part when Shi De asks why Shu Yi is not curious about the blond woman who caused so much strife and Shu Yi just says something like: I see now how much I mean to you, so I know you did nothing wrong when it comes to her. He doesn’t even need to ask anymore.

Shu Yi and Shi De were apart for 5+ years, Yu Zhen Xuan looked for Pei Shou Yi for 12 years. That's still a long time for me. I don't think the show is bad, but it ends up being a bit convoluted in the end. I still like season two, especially for the actors.

I don't know if it's the translation or what but I have to laugh at the line "I'm taking the first flight back"…
I snorted at that line, 10 out of 10 for absurdity!

I am totally living thanks to this drama.Every week full of long shifts I think about how I will relax on Friday…
Relatable! I have a hard time concentrating on other entertainment. I be like, woman snap out of it, read a book, you know you like those! ....and half of me whines... NOPE I don't wanna!

I might have a few minor criticisms of the show, but I'm not going to dwell on them.
On We Best Love: Fighting Mr. 2nd Mar 19, 2021
So they went for more humour in the 3rd episode. The way Shu Yi put the two men in the dog house LOL. Also, the dad asks Shi De how to get back in his son's good graces. That's basically him acknowledging Shi De as Shu Yi's other half, awww.
This second season is definitely different from the first. I mean separated for years and then an epic slap at work said it was likely to be puzzling. I'm hoping after all the episodes are released, the plot will at least look a bit more cohesive. I suppose the format doesn't help. I mean if it was a movie, or released all at once, the story arc might be less jarring than with the shortish episodes. Still like the show though!

Is Yu Zhe Shuan on the spectrum? I'm no proessional but it feels like his character is meant to be. I think this…
I think he is supposed to be on the spectrum yes. I remember hearing a voice over in some of the previews where I think Pei Shou Yi the doc talks about why their relationship is so complicated. He lists varying diagnosis I can't remember, and says that Yu Zhe Xuan has a filial attacment i.e. thinks the doc is a parental figure, stemming from the fact that the doc helped him when they were younger. So, I'm guessing the doc on his part, has a hard time seeing Yu Zhen Xuan as a competent adult, because of his diagnosis, and feels like a romantic relationship would be taking advantage!? Did anyone else see that trailer or am I hallucinating, lol?

So, this show seems to be more in the style of
1. Screwball Comedy: puts its emphasis on a funny spoofing of love
2. Farce: the style of humor that occurs in a farce, disapproving : something that is so bad that it is seen as ridiculous
3. Slapstick: a type of physical comedy characterized by broad humour, absurd situations

I really like this series. The acting is so poignant.

There's nothing extreme about that couch scene. I'm Northern European and an adult, just for refrence. Also, seriously, it's nothing you couldn't thematically speaking see in so called western programming. I don't know what the heck extra is going on with people, but the scene itself is not worth all this fuss.

Did you notice that on the message board there's a thread called Music from the series. Maybe that could be a good place to ask? That way your question won't get lost among all the other stuff in the commnet section.
