I really loved this K-drama.

I just finished episode 13, and I’m writing this review while watching the K-drama because I forget what I watched after I finish it anyway. This K-drama is sooo underrated. The acting was so good!! The male lead actor—I think I've seen him somewhere before—and his acting is so good to me, as well as the female lead!! I will definitely find their past K-dramas.

Let’s start with some things I liked. I liked that they included something about what idols go through, showing that even people with money can have a difficult life. The plot, I think, is something new (with the grandma and returning to herself), and while the murder aspect isn’t something new, this K-drama was hella funny to me!! I had so much laughter! Also, the friend of the female lead—I loved her character so much. It made me happy that she was the first to know about the female lead’s secret. There isn’t anything else that comes to mind to add at the moment.

Some things I didn’t like: Why are Netflix writers always trying to sneak in a love triangle even though it’s clear who the end game is?? There was no need! I wish they would have made the second male lead have a relationship with the female lead’s friend. I don’t know if I am right, but until now, isn’t he basically stalking the female lead? (Kinda.) Unnecessary again! The start of the K-drama was good, but halfway through, it had a downfall, and then as it goes to the end, it starts to become fine. I hate how the male lead and female lead can’t communicate. I am damn sure if they had a proper conversation, they could have gotten closer faster. I hate how writers always use the trope of the main characters getting drunk to communicate. Can’t they do it normally? Lastly, why is it that in these types of situations in K-dramas, the male lead always finds out on his own?? Can’t you just tell him? (Of course, it’s not that deep.)
My opinion on episode 13: I was not surprised by the plot twist, but I did not suspect her at all.

Ohhh, I love the female lead's friend!!!! She is so supportive, and the fact that she comforted the female lead and encouraged her to tell everything?! Makes me love her even more. But the only thing I don’t like is that they made her fall in love with the (I don’t know his name) male lead’s friend. Like, the main actor for the male lead seems older, but not in a bad way, but the male lead’s friend seems to be in his 50s?? Are we being for real?!

Finished. I like the ending. I am happy that every important character got their ending, and we saw it. The only disappointment for me is the male lead’s friend and the female lead’s friend. It just doesn’t go together. He seems to be in his 50s, and she seems to be in her 30s or even younger. I really loved this K-drama. It deserves more recognition.

It’s a perfect BL for everyone who is tired of overdramatized plotlines, stiff chemistry, bad acting and problematic leads.
Nothing bad about it. I really enjoyed it! No unnessecery drama. The story was not something special, it was simple but well psced, no dragging . There is nothing bad about ,I think this deserve a higher rating. The chemistry was also good. The acting was great!
I reccomend it for sure!

Everlasting Longing - Dropped on ep.25

I couldn't take it anymore! Found this by accident, never heard of it before. The start was interesting and had a trope I usually love. But then... things went downhill.

What I Disliked:

The FL's Acting: For the first time ever, I noticed an actress seeming limited. The FL seemed to have only three expressions. Seriously? I've watched tons of dramas where people call actors "statues," but I never noticed it myself until now. I'm not criticizing her face she looks ethereal but her expressions felt unnatural, almost painful. Bro, she needs to work on that.

The FL's Endless Lies: Her lies just kept piling up! ML, how could you trust her? Okay, I get why she hid her identity won't blame her too much for that.

The ML Stops Communicating (Ep 19): Then the ML decides... no more talking? Seriously? This lack of communication directly leads to the FL falling off a cliff! Perfect! (Sarcasm). Like, you couldn't spare 5 minutes to tell her the truth? No excuse.

ML's Illogical Trust: Early on, the FL tried anything to escape, even trying to kill him! Then he suddenly decides she's his savior after one save? Logic? Gone. You don't even know her!

FL Forgets Her Goal: I felt bad for the FL wanting to help her family. But then she gets stuck wanting to stay in Beixuan... falling in love? Girl, your family needs you! And ML, you have a contest to win! Do you care? This had potential, but I couldn't like the ML forcing her to stay. I just wanted her to go help her family!

Painfully Boring Subplot: All that screentime wasted on those two trying to steal the Jun family legacy? Unnecessary filler. Skipped 99% of their scenes. Zero care. If you wanted comedy, do it with the leads!

The Princess & Guard: Felt bad for the guard stuck with the pitiful princess. She got no real consequences or character development. Also disliked making the guard have romantic feelings for the FL. Why? They grew up like family! Just have it be loyalty, gratitude, and duty to her family. That would have been strong enough. The forced love triangle just hurt his character unnecessarily. Him and the princess could have been interesting if he actually fell for her and she wasn't so insufferable. Needed development.

ML's Guard: Actually seemed interesting! Wanted to see more of him.

Weird Red Eyes: What's up with the ML's and his childhood friend's eyes turning red when emotional? Are they okay? Is this a werewolf thing? It just looked scary...

The Pregnancy Plot: Why did the FL even keep the child? It felt forced. How did the baby survive her falling off a massive cliff when she was only about one month pregnant? (Not an expert, don't want to be, but seriously?) Then, back with her family, couldn't she... you know... avoid the huge scandal of being pregnant? They called her unvirtuous! She wanted to save her family business – dealing with pregnancy seems like a massive, reputation-destroying hurdle she wouldn't choose. Felt purely plot-driven.

ML's Crazy Actions: Him showing up at the Jun family home? Insane! FL was right: "If the king finds out, won't that confirm the Jun family is with the enemy?" Him constantly barging into her room there was infuriating! I'd be furious too.

The Few Goods:
Costumes looked good for the budget.
The FL wasn't the typical "sweet and cute girly" type.
She mostly used her brain.

Big Question:
In the first episode, the FL kills attackers! Her guard says they grew up training together, and she pretended to be a man. So... doesn't that mean the fl trained too? Just to make the ML save her every time?

Final Thoughts:
This was a long rant! Personally, I don't recommend it. I could rant more, but... it just wasn't for me. I see some people liked it in other reviews, everyone has different taste. It had some okay points, I guess? But overall, a frustrating drop at episode 25.

A Visual Feast with Fluffy Romance

First Impressions:
This is the first time I’ve seen such vibrant aesthetics in a cdrama! The costumes are so ethereal, they practically smell expensive through the screen. Every accessory and outfit is stunning, the quality is an absolute chef’s kiss.

The Vibes:
Light & Fluffy: If you’re looking for action or heavy politics, this isn’t it. It’s more of a cozy, low-stakes romance with dreamy visuals.
Adorable Couple: The leads are SO CUTE. I love them! The ML’s backstory broke my heart; he didn’t deserve any of that. 😭
Since this is a reincarnation/transmigration story, I love how the drama acknowledges it instead of obsessing over the plot like some manhwas do. Refreshing!
The Struggle (But in a Good Way?):
Pacing: I’ll be honest I’m a little bored (currently on Ep 16). I usually prefer fast-paced, action-packed shows, but this is more of a slow, pretty, feel-good watch.
With 27 episodes (each around 18 mins), it’s perfect for a lazy, cozy day when you just want something lightweight and visually satisfying.
Final Thoughts:
Visuals: 10/10 – The colors, costumes, and cinematography are insanely gorgeous.
Romance: Sweet & Simple – No unnecessary drama, just fluff and vibes.

Watch If… You want eye candy and a chill romance without heavy plot twists.

40 episodes were not needed, in my opinion

The plot was fine, but from the moment it started focusing more on romance, it became boring. I skipped many scenes out of boredom. I love that the FL was strong, could protect herself, and was smart. After episode 32, the episodes became more interesting, I guess. The acting was great, and the chemistry was good, but 40 episodes were not necessary.

I will come back to add more of my coments on this show. Firstly, i feel like Song Han Gyeom carried this show. I liked his character a bit too much. This had a grat start but i felt like at ep 6 tat it went a bit off. Overall, i haven't watch muvh bls so i am nit that picky. I give this 7.5 bc i think it had a great start and i liked some parts. Also, when Song Han Gyeom kissed the other guy ( don't remember his name) out og nowhere, it was pretty random. As someone who haven't watch much bls, i think i will have give this bl a lower rating but bc of that scene i make the rating a bit higher .

Waste of my time...

I finished episode 7! I can't continue this!! Where is the story development?? And why is a freaking thirty-year-old woman acting like she's ten with little to no IQ?? I’m tired. Most of the episodes so far are just filler moments. Why do Chinese writers always drag out most of the shows?? When I started this, I thought, "This seems good! I'm glad I found something similar." In the past, I watched a K-drama called Blue Birthday (if I remember correctly). It’s similar to this one—it also has time travel. I mean, it’s similar, but with the difference that the female lead goes back to save her crush, while in this one, she doesn't even know him. Anyway, in short, it reminds me of that show. Go check it out; it's really good! But as for this one, I’m dropping it, and I probably won't pick it up again. The female lead is annoying in so many ways. Such a waste of my time!

edit:After reading some of the comments and getting spoiled (which is fine since I won’t watch it), I realized it has no similarity to Blue Birthday in terms of direction. The idea at the start is almost the same, if I remember correctly, but aside from that and the time travel aspect, the shows have nothing else in common.

Highly recommend for the humor and the relatable FL!

I'm loving this series so far! It gives us a refreshingly different kind of female lead. Totally laid back, obsessed with life's simple pleasures like sleep, good food, and her precious peace and quiet. The male lead is equally intriguing: ruthless (but with good reason!) yet genuinely good to those who deserve it.

The Snake Spirit Guy. Absolute eye candy! Love him too.

Arthur Chen Thoughts: Honestly? When I first saw he was the ML, I was a bit disappointed and low-key sad (watched him in Lighter & Princess but dropped it). I've gotten used to him now, though I wouldn't normally seek out his dramas (just my opinion – you do you!). I'm staying for the FL! She's genuinely funny, and the ML is funny in his own dark way (like putting her in a coffin!). Her humor feels natural, not forced.

Love Their Dynamic: The couple is coupling! Adore how completely unbothered the FL is about the ML sleeping right next to her. It's become totally normal for her. Hilarious and weirdly sweet.

The Downside: Gotta be honest, the editing and CGI look pretty cheap at times. It can be distractingly rough.

Quotes That I Loved:
"People of your world only think about romance all the time. No wonder they didn’t improve in cultivation at all." - ML

"It's because I am his walking air-conditioner." - FL (I love her smmm! So relatable!)

Overall: Highly recommend for the humor and the relatable FL! Obviously, it's early days, my rating and thoughts might shift as new episodes drop, but right now? It's a fun!
