Unexpectedly Fun

I went into Flex x Cop without high expectations, thinking it might be just another action-comedy drama but I ended up genuinely enjoying it. It’s not filled with mind-blowing twists or intense suspense that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Instead, it offers a blend of lighthearted comedy, mild action, and a dash of mystery that makes it a fun watch overall.

The cases aren’t particularly thrilling or complex, but they’re enjoyable in a casual, entertaining way. What surprised me most was the romance. Usually, I’m not big on romantic subplots, but in this drama, I actually found myself rooting for the main leads to end up together. Even though that didn’t happen, the ending still felt good and satisfying.

The casting was spot-on, especially the male lead his performance stood out and carried much of the show for me. He brought so much charm and energy that it made the whole drama more engaging. If you're looking for something light, fun, and easy to watch with likable characters and decent chemistry, Flex x Cop is worth checking out.

Great Acting, But Not the Story I Hoped For

I started watching this drama after leaving it in my watchlist for a long time. The main reason I finally gave it a try was because of the excellent ratings and glowing reviews I thought I’d enjoy it like everyone else. But unfortunately, it just wasn’t for me.

By around episode 7, I already had the feeling that this show wasn’t clicking with me. Still, I kept watching because I wanted to finish it. I wouldn’t say it’s a bad drama there are definitely strong points but it didn’t meet my expectations either.

One of the biggest issues for me was the romance. It felt forced and out of place. I know many viewers liked that part, but for me, it didn’t add anything meaningful. In fact, I believe this drama would’ve been excellent if it focused solely on Woo Young Woo as an autistic lawyer solving unique legal cases. Watching her grow stronger, more confident, and more successful through her brilliant memory and sharp mind that’s the story I really wanted.

I also felt that the legal cases weren’t always that mind blowing. A few stood out, but many didn’t feel very impactful. That said, the cast was undeniably strong. Park Eun Bin, especially, was outstanding. She completely disappeared into the role it was like watching a completely different person. I’m not sure anyone else could’ve portrayed Woo Young Woo the way she did. She was truly unbelievable.

I also liked some of the side characters, like her friend Dong Geu Rami, and I found the family drama involving her mother and father quite interesting. But again, the romance held it back for me.

Overall, this drama just wasn’t my cup of tea. I see why others love it, and I respect that but for me, I would’ve enjoyed it more without the romance and with a stronger focus on legal challenges and character growth.

A Slow Burn Crime Drama That Fell Short for Me

I decided to watch Through the Darkness after seeing so many positive reviews and comments online. People were calling it deep, intense, and thought provoking, so I had high expectations going in. But honestly, it didn’t hit the mark for me.

I was hoping for mind-blowing criminal profiling, smart twists, and groundbreaking case-solving. Instead, what I got was a series of crimes where the criminals were mostly caught after a lot of damage was already done after too many people had already died. That made it feel less like a suspenseful crime thriller and more like a slow recounting of tragedies. It lacked the urgency and cleverness I usually enjoy in crime dramas.

The casting was solid, and some performances stood out, especially from the lead. But even good acting couldn’t save a story that, to me, felt too dragged out and uneven. The pacing was really slow, and the tension never quite built up in a satisfying way. I kept waiting for a moment that would make me go “Wow, this is why everyone’s recommending it” but that moment never came.

I can see why some people might appreciate the realistic and psychological approach, but personally, it didn’t hold my attention the way I hoped. It’s not a bad drama, but it just didn’t live up to the expectations for me.

A Light Comedy Carried by Kwak Dong-yeon’s Charm

I started watching this drama purely for Kwak Dong-yeon, and honestly, he didn’t disappoint. I didn’t know much about the rest of the cast, but they were surprisingly good decent chemistry and fitting performances all around.

That said, the drama itself is just a light comedy. Don’t expect deep plots or emotional storytelling. It’s something you can watch just to pass time or unwind after a long day. Nothing groundbreaking, but it does its job if you’re in the mood for some silly office humor.
