And it’s rarely ever questioned by viewers sometimes it’s not even addressed in a drama. Some people will refuse to watch a drama if they notice the woman is a bit older. I find it interesting you chose to use the couple from something in the rain as a example because they only have a six year age gap. They are both in their 30s. Is it because it bothers the woman is six years older? Had it been the other way around would you have even cared? Because that’s pretty default age difference in most dramas with males always being older. You are comparing them with a couple with a 12 year age gap. A girl in her teens and a man in his 30s. What a random but telling comparison...

Soo Jung is a fictional character that has been written with many flaws and people have every right to criticize her. Just because a character is written female does not mean they’re above criticism.
