Yes, i read that Zhu Yuan Chang and Zhu Di are not exactly "nice" that they have shown here. But i am not here to judge about them, i am just watching what story that they told. So far they've only shown how close Zhu royal families are. About the killings, whether they gloss over it or not, i think the story has not there yet. But considering what Zhu Yuan Chang in the story, want to investigate the corruption of their officials who have merit as their founding nation, and how big their scale are, so to "clean" them up, it is not gonna be pretty. And whether that Jurchen princess is Zhu Di's true love or not, the story has not told them yet. So far, young Zhu Di only met her first, before he met his future empress. I think they deliberately show how harmonious the main protagonists now, to make the story later on more heart wrenching. Anyway it is not documentary program, so maybe they do have some liberties in portraying the characters here. The Mongolian princess is in the mix, because the war in the beginning was up against Mongolian kingdom. The Ming army captured his families to find out his where about. And this princess later on has some connection with Zhu Di. I don't familiar with this period history, but it seems they really hate her and any Mongolian connections.

According to the new update, today it's only 1 eps. Tomorrow they will back with 2 eps, 7-8.

Haha, his dramas Agarwood and South Wind have been on Top 5 dramas that people most waiting for, i think Youku not that stupid to not aired his dramas. There are talk that both dramas on process of negotiation to aired on TV network, maybe they were waiting for the final decision. Because sharing airing rights might have some effect for Youku.
