Low budget awesomeness!!! The ML was way too 'overpowered', loved it. They spent all the money on the Emperor's set and said F*** it to other things. CGI? What CGI? Backgrounds? Midjourney could generate a better background image honestly, but at least they had the budget to hire more than 5 actors. The casting? next level. Oh! I just saw the ML in Legend of Zhuohua, it's nice to see him say more than 5 words. I suspected he could dance (checked his profile he can) with the way he carried himself and moved around, reminded me of Leo Luo.
"The 3 characters that shall not be named" It's been a while since I've seen something more useless and more troubling to my soul than my diet plan, but here we are with the hockey couple and the uncle. I swear I'm watching 2 dramas, "Sunshine by my side" π and some shxty 10 minute mini series with shxty subtitles.
Xiao Zhan sang the Oath of Love Ost and the ending song of JOL. As a bonus you can watch him sing in English https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ye3ujALds_0&ab_channel=%E7%99%BE%E8%A7%86TV%E5%AE%98%E6%96%B9%E9%A2%91%E9%81%93
Thank you π€£... My ignorance to pop songs is showing... I like the "faded" rendition, the lady sings well too.
π€π€π€ Not taking anything away from this drama, but I can safely say "The Youth Memories" is the best Xiao Zhan drama of 2023 (for me). Since the "Oath of Love" (Maybe "Joy of Life") my respect for him as an actor grew, but in "The Youth Memories" is where he shined the most and looking at his role here and also his role in "The longest promise" (yet to finish), 3 different characters done well, I can now say Xiao Zhan is a very good actor, I've never heard him sing, but if he sings well too, then this man takes his craft seriously.
PrimeVideo is using the one where he's standing inside the Louvre... That image made sense to me and maybe 2 other images under MDL photos.
The overall vibe was just a little different.
And the ending was more like an "Ohhh" instead of a "That's some twisted π©" kinda ending like in previous installments, but didn't mind it. π
Not sorry to say, but the current cover image is not very Rohany it looks like some republican era drama about spies.π€¦ββοΈ

Ok so season 2 when?
Yeah... So I waited for the lil sis to die because she was annoying only for them to take away my Tan Siπ±
Evan Lin needs to get more roles. πΈ
