Hidden Love deserves its rating, it's just beautiful. πΈ We're only halfway through 2023 and I've seen a lot of good Cdramas released this year.
The chemistry between Zhao Lu Si and Victor Ma was amazing (I saw and felt something between them), they should play each other's love interest in another dramaβ€οΈ AND I'm not saying she didn't have chemistry with Chen Zhe Yuan.
they donβt decide what happens to the criminals after they get arrested, they mentioned couple of times of how…
I get that they don't decide, I'm just used to dramas mentioning what happened to the suspect through "breaking news", a courtroom scene etc.
#Especially in the case of the abused wife and girlfriend, I really wanted to know what happened to each person, because she (the wife) tried to say it was self-defence to get a lighter sentence, and what happened to her after it was discovered that it's not her who did it, but was still involved. I wanted a 'proper' conclusion, for lack of a better word.π€
This drama went nowhere near where I expected it to go. XCS is loyal to a fault. If a "friend" keeps stabbing me in the back (sometimes in the front too) and I keep letting that said friend back into my life, then I deserve the stabbing. π€£ Li Qin is an ACTRESSπππ I appreciate Xiao Zhan not wanting to be typecast. π
Ben Ben Ben, oh! Banyaphon! I once read a comment that said he only has 1 facial expression, unfair and untrue, he has 4,"ππ (except without tears) π€π" I didn't think anyone could compete with Yim when it comes to making me cringe, but here we are.πππ
They chose the right people for the roles, I wasn't sure about YDJ at first, but by the end he was Yechan, he had the mannerisms down like Yechan from the manhwa, but still with his own take on the character. Looking back, YDJ had a harder role between the 2 (plus the dialect).
I understand why they made the changes they did, I mean there's so much they could do in 8 episodes honestly. πΈπΈπΈπΈπ―
This drama did something strange that took me a couple of episodes to get used to... so they arrest the suspect and then cut straight to the next case, we don't get to find out what happens after the arrest. It's not binge-watch good, it's an episode or 2 a day kinda good. π
FYI: When I smell BL subtext, bRomance, or find out that the original source of a drama was a BL novel, my mind fills in the rest. π
And 3 years later here I am, back again to finish it (which I did, but kinda wish I hadn't, but hey π€·ββοΈ). One good thing is that I got to see Max & Nat before their 'Cutie Pie' days.
I applaud them for taking a risk. 2 consenting adults, I'm not mad π€·ββοΈ, the only thing I'm mad about is the make-up foundation that sometimes didn't match the skin.
I had no preconceived notions, since I never saw the prequel, but I expected a lot because of the earlier episodes. I liked it a lot at first, but then... I liked it less and less. "The Promise" frustrated me so much.π€¦ββοΈ
SSS was like doing the deed without a climax. I apologise if my comment offends anyone, but it never really had any wow peaks, the peaks that happened still felt like something was missing, but you forgive because ehh π€·ββοΈit's good enough... And truthfully Xu Xiao was the empressive one.
There is a lot of room for second season if they want to...I'm sure the team will deliver a stellar job.We need-follow…
Even better, he'll find out the cause of death and stuffπ. (Thought I remembered wrong honestly, but during the tattoo-girl episode they focused on him itπ ).

π€£ I had to laugh, I'm sorry, I know it's important to you.

1. GP and CS getting back together.
Gao Peng deserved better, Chen Shu wasn't it.
2. The ML's lil bro going back to his shitty parents.
It's so unfair how easily the lil bro was taken from the ML.
