Most dramas are exciting in the beginning then drag on later, but this for me was vice versa and I think part of it had to do with the FL's lack of emotional depth in her acting (TO HER FANS, THIS IS NOT PERSONAL shoo shoo!). The rain scenes βοΈβοΈβ, oh God, 1 minute it's raining cats and dogs, they turn the corner, BONE DRY...at least wet the ground.
The 'First Frost' official Weibo page posted the MDL 8.9 rating (Marcus Here, saw the screenshot too) and the page also called MDL π’ "A LEADING ASIAN DRAMA REVIEW PLATFORM" I will not discredit family in front of guests. π€£π€£ "Just smile and wave boys. Just smile and wave."π§π§π§
True, they have plenty of fodder in just SK, π but it might still be too soon and too close to home. π¬ Also,…
I think maybe, just maybe, we are on the same book, just different chapters, my whole thing is basically that countries that are not predominantly white are always shown with some kind of political unrest, violence, uncivilised, starving children... Because when you have seen the beauty of these countries it almost seems unfair, but when you go to SK you realise that most people believe these things.
Did you see the pictures in Baek Gang Hyeok's office... πΌοΈπΌοΈπΌοΈ White saviour complex, Korean in this case.
The only bad light SK will cast on America/Europe is yes, bad stereotypes, bad characters/actors, I agree with that.
My argument was more than that though...ππ Anyway, thank you

I see your point, but Europe, North America are usually shown in a good light... German doctors always cure everything, MC studied in Europe, MC grew up in the US, etc. When I saw "When the Phone Rings" I also said too soon, didn't bash the drama, but side-eyed the whole thing.
But you're right, other than an MDL rant, what can you do?π€·
Can South Korea stop including Africa, the Middle East or Southeast Asia in its dramas? They never show them in a good light....If Korea wants an amazing political storyline, then do one where a country impeaches a prime minister and then the first lady is accused of plagiarising her master's thesis...That plotline, π₯π₯π₯ I TELL YOU!!!
So good, I'm glad I watched this...enjoyed it a lot.πΈπΈπΈ This had the "twistiest" twists in a tale I've seen in a while...it felt like what I imagine a psychedelic trip to be like.
I love me some revenge plots and I loved this one too. πΈπΈ I rated part 1 and 2 as a collective work since I binged 1-16. Man, there's something more exciting and vicious about female villains...every time I see a lady as the main villain, I just know the drama is about to be π₯π₯π₯
Side note: Jung Sung Il is... π«£ Song Hye Kyo is aging gracefully, people should touch up as they want, but some be looking like leatherface. πΈπΈ
Small rant: At the beginning the "girl friend" asked how Sunwoo knew Jaehyeon's name, I know they were trying to imply that maybe Sunwoo had a crush on Jaehyeon, but she was gone for some time while they were talking and maybe they introduced themselves during the time she was gone... I wish it was Jaehyeon who noticed the slip and not the girl... Nitpicking.. This itsy bitsy detail bothered me more than it should have.
My first ever 120-second BL and it didn't disappoint... I had zero expectations, I had no plans to ever watch any of these kinda BLs, but today I thought, why notπ€·? So good πΈπΈ...I'll try watching more.
I can see why it's very popular in China, I have things I liked and things I didn't like, but overall this was good, I enjoyed it...πΈ I love me some Li Xian and the thing I appreciate the most about Yang Zi is that she doesn't mind getting ugly or dirty...so I was looking forward to this pairing again...πΈ πAND props to Miles for breaking his typecasting curse. π Waiting for season 2.
comparing this to "It's Okay to Not Be Okay" is disrespecting the fantastic story and acting and soundtracks and…
I can't take this seriously... π€£π€£π€£ I'm comparing 2 dramas by the same actor with similar tropes that I WATCHED BACK TO BACK. And I'm literally big-upping IOTNBO... But disrespectful you say? If that's what you think, okay, gurl.
It was well written and the acting was great. πΈ Oh Jung Se, I mean wowπ―π―π― The 'In Silence' OST.πΈ
MGT tells KMY that he's done with her, moments later I see him driving her car, I'm like no no no, return her car when you're done with her, I don't care if you tryna save her.π«π«π

Back-to-back KSH in a rich woman/poor man trope.π
