Unpopular opinion:
I liked the ex-boyfriend, good character development and the FL was partly to blame for how he treated (coddled) her and I'm glad she noticed too...he realised his faults then fixed them, never badmouthed or allowed anyone to badmouth her and his love was unwavering.

I was actually rooting for him until I started to like the FL less and less as the story progressed.

Not to take anything away from the rest of the cast, but War bodied his assignment. 🌸🌸

As a fan of Donghua, I got teary-eyed when I heard "Break the Cocoon by Angela Zhang", same scene, same song, same "chills" (they knew what they were doing😏)...
And as much as I love Xiao Zhan, I will never finish the first season.💩
(FYI, after watching The Youth Memories, I know XZ would have bodied intellectual, cool-headed, badass Tang San).
