I've just finished this show and it's the first time I've felt this compelled to comment on something specific.
This is only my personal opinion.
Overall, the story was pretty good and I thoroughly enjoyed its execution. The score, the way the show was framed and the editing were highly engaging. The colouring was superb. I really enjoy this genre so with any other actors, I may have been even more entertained.
However, my highly unpopular opinion is that Pooh is not a good actor. I see many praising him and I'm glad others can appreciate him but I cannot. As a person with professional background in film, I do not see much improvement from his previous shows where he was usually the main reason as to why I dropped them. In here, throughout the episodes he was in many scenes where he was supposed to look anywhere from anxious to terrified. His idea to do it was to squint hard and show his teeth for the most part, which made him look constipated, for the lack of a better expression. His eyes are much devoid of any real emotions, like he hasn't quite cracked the motivations behind his character's actions.
I see that this couple will have a new show, which I think I will not be watching - and that's fine, not everything has to be for everyone. But as a person who may know about acting a little more than an average layperson, I really had to express my personal opinion about this because it really bugged me throughout the show.
the casting is certainly disappointing and the photos from the set really don't help. obviously we won't see this drama until probably late next year at the latest but the leads did not hit my expectations at all. i wish dramas used more actually trained actors than just idols...
This is the comment posted by another person a few days ago. From AvenueX's First Impression video, she mentions…
ah, i must have missed this comment. thank you. i do love the vibe between the current leads and i am a fan of zzh in general, so all the more. but looking at photos of the previously rumoured cast, i see that the production had a certain image of both characters in mind because somehow, mzj and ldk seem to have a similar vibe to zzh and gj.
I'm slowly giving up but might still be worth a shot here. In ep 10 during the scene on the beach (and some other places but i can't remember) there is a song which I'm obsessed with but which is not included in the OST. Shazam also does not recognise it from the sample. Does anyone know what song it is..?
while i agree with DOTS being unwatchable, it's a terrible take on any woman's wishes and desires. just because somebody is handsome doesnt mean a woman needs to swoon immediately, especially when she's there to do other things.
