This movie was one hell of a ride, entertaining from the very first minute to the last. An action-packed, ironic, fast-paced movie refined by its actors and music. Especially the music! I really had a great time watching this, (plus for the ladies some eye-candy in form of Lee Byung Hun). I will definitely watch again.
My guess is that many people might be overwhelmed by the first two episodes which are basically just backstory and character introduction, plus the historical and political topic might be too much for getting familiar with the story (and the time-skips might be irritating as well). I just keep telling people they have to imagine the first two episodes as a movie, after the first clash of Ae-sin and Eugene on the rooftop the story starts rolling. At least it was for me like this. But I was so stunned by the great cinematography and the beautiful set that I just had to watch! I really really hope those people will realize it. In my opinion it's definitely a 10/10.
I was already bawling my eyes out at that last moment between Eugene and Ae Shin, but I started sobbing even harder…
Same here! After Eugenes final moments my crazy mind was still hoping for him to survive, I mean, he's our Eugene after all?! But seeing Kyles teary eyes while reading about his friend... my tears came non-stop... I'm still so hurt.
My heart ist shattered into thousand pieces... I'm sad... and angry. How could you kill of Eugene?! I was madly crying during his final scene and my crazy mind was still thinking that he may survive... but after seeing Kyles teary eyes while reading about Eugenes death, my tears came non-stop. It felt so pointless... I got so invested in all those characters and their chemistry, and seeing all of them die and for what? Yes I knew this wouldn't be a fairytale, but still... why bother and care for the characters if the ALL die anyway? I would be "ok" with the death of Ae-sin but not with our main hero. If they had to let him tragically die like this, the could have give us at least a passionate farewell-kiss!
Yeah, but... still the best show I've seen so far. Not only the best K-Drama, the best show of all time.
I was planning on watching this but... is there romance between the main leads Lee Byung Hun and Kim Tae Ri? Because…
Yes, there is romance, but very subtle and innocent. And their chemistry is just great. However you really shouldn't avoid it because auf the age gap, the characters they're playing are about (edit) 39 and 28; so Ae-sin (Kim Tae Ri) is clearly an adult. You won't regret it! I can say I haven't seen something SO GOOD in the last couple months.
Ae-sins love confession was so incredible beautiful but sad at the same time... Her action took Eugenes breath away! You can see it in his face. He held his breath till she finished her sweet confession of love to him while she was holding his hand tenderly!... then he sighed quietly. Such a great acting!
