It doesn't make it better. Mork is crazy in love, and Pi takes advantage of the situation. And I hope Mork will not agree with that much longer, rightfully so.
The end is disappointing. The skinny plot around LiCheng's job is closed in a few minutes and these two last episodes are basically a 1 hour fan service fest. I was hoping it would get better, but the rape issue never really get adressed in a good way. It's a fairly good show if you want to turn off your brain and can stand a story that makes no sense regarding the step-brothers as well as cliché plots after cliché plots. I probably wouldn't have enjoyed watch this show without Charles Tu. Trapped and MODC were way better.
The fact you can't see or don't like the plot line doesn't mean there isn't one. And we don't evaluate a drama depending on the number of episodes, this is a really weird thing to say.
I don't honestly think that is a valid reason.I think it is because the show is a bit boring. It's a super nice…
Well it's very subjective 'cause to me SOTUS is the most boring BL ever, even if I enjoy the show History4 is objectively very cliché, and Papa & Daddy isn't boring at all (you're probably just not the target like I'm not SOTUS's target).
I would say all BL are LGBT stories at some degree, but it's not always fully true. BL are made for girls first, and so it's often the way girls imagine and fantasize gay relationships. Personaly I can rarely relate to bl's characters 'cause very often there is this "I'm not gay I just like this boy and otherwise I would marry a girl". In the same order, one of the boys is often presented as the "girl" in the couple: the heterosexual model is pasted on a gay couple. Effeminate men are also often used as a comic effect in a disrespective way. So these kind of BL aren't really LGBT to me... But BL can be LGBT (Like in the Movies is one). On the other hand, I feel Papa & Daddy is really a LGBT story 'cause I can fully relate to them. And not a BL at all 'cause there is none of the flaw listed above, it doesn't check even one of the BL clichés. Instead it's centered arround LGBT issues. You can also see a women couple, something extremely rare in BLs.
The way XingSi confessed his love to YongJie was a bit disturbing. I don't care if two non blood related step-brother like them love each other and decide to be a couple, but this was such a weird statement.
Despite the obviously low budget and sometimes average acting, this is REALLY good and well written. And this is not a BL, so there is no stereotype and flaw associated with it. It seems to be a real gay & lgbt serie, sadly something fairly rare. The first two episodes are so good, better than all BL currently aired.
This attempted rap by a nobody... just WTF? And two rapes in 2 weeks... that's a choice. The screenwriter really made surprising choices. Ye Xing doesn't seem to have surmounted what's happened, no "faux pas" in the way it's handdled. But this obsession around who is bottom/top between Xiao/Teng is annoying. Just be verse and move on gosh. I hate when this is overused, it's so cliché. At least no one is called wife for now, and I hope it will never be the case.
The initial plot was good, very promising. But to me, it never became really interesting. It was mostly boring 'cause way too long (absolutly no reason to make episodes lasting 1h20/1h30 with such a tiny story), and sometime somewhat childish. The main storyline is underexploited (it's a shame, they could have done so much more with this plot) and I didn't like the way villagers were portrayed (often stupid or simple-minded). However there are a few good scenes too, and the end is surprisingly good for something coming from GMMTV. Can't say I loved this drama, but can't say I hated it either. There is way better, but there also sooooooo much worse lol.
Here we go again. Make our days count was the down fall of the franchise. Killed a gay on a salt run! Now this.…
MODC has a painful ending, but it's well executed and at least it makes it stand out among all other BLs with a cute happy (boring) ending. Life isn't always full of joy. Also, maybe most of us know how hard life is, but that's also probably why the majority of movies made by the LGBT community about the lgbt community (so not these BLs) aren't in fact a long quiet river. They are often sad, difficult and a roller coaster of emotions.
The rape scene could have been much worse. I wouldn't say I liked it (it's always painfull to watch), but writing a rape scene isn't necessarily bad. Writing deranged characters isn't bad either. Writing a victim who feels guilty isn't necessarily bad too (as it's in fact a very realistic attitude that victims have in real life) . However it can become problematic depending on how the story continues. The premeditated rape scene is an issue that characters need to strongly adress in the next episodes, the two brothers can't comeback to a nice relation without a really powerful reason (and honestly can't picture anything powerfull enough). Thai BLs usually are DISASTROUS on that aspect, I hope this taiwanese drama do it better.
[edit] And by the way the mom is awfull (or stupid).

I enjoy LiCheng/MuRen a lot more.

By the way Charles Tu is amazing, I'm in love.
