Yeah, interested in the older sister's story, too! And the younger sister they seem to be hinting was married but her husband died (one daughter was an old maid (sam dal), another a divorcee (jin dal) and another was a widow (which leaves the youngest sister, hae dal?)? At times they make it like she got pregnant outside of marriage and other times seem to make it like she had a baby after her husband died? I have been most confused by her story.

That made me remember that the guy in Go Back Couple was a weaker ML, too (different kind of "weaker," though), for most of the drama. 😂 He was so frustrating until the last few episodes. It's easier to watch the cute and sweet pushover guys than the jerks, though, I think. 😏

I feel like the mom is going to die (the pills made me nervous); didn't this also happen in Hi Bye Mama and Go…
That's why I marked it as a spoiler. 👍

They haven't talked about why she has the same name as the town, right? And also, the ML and FL have the same last name, correct? Confusing, haha.

Yeah, sometimes people do need to be brought down from their lofty perch when they are being awful humans because that is sometimes what's needed, but I liked how this drama showed just how crazy the momentum can become on the internet regardless of the facts. Situations are rarely as simple or black and white as people want them to be, but many people don't want to bother getting to the bottom of the actual situation becaus that's too time-consuming and difficult. The situation is a messy one, and not one a catchy news post (or a bunch of short, snappy articles) could really do credit to. It's a bummer a lot of people don't want truth, they want news to gossip about or that makes them feel better about themselves by jumping on the "correct" side of the media maelstrom or that confirms their own beliefs.

Do you mean mentioning the Hallmark plot was a spoiler? I feel like that was the vibe from the synopsis, too, but sure; don't want to make waves.

Yong Pil grew up in a seaside down with a diver mother and can't swim? Fishy... 🤨🤔

Quite a lot of exposition in the first two episodes, and definitely the framework of a Hallmark plot, but despite these minor gripes, if they develop things creatively, I won't mind. This screenwriter has a good track record, so I have hope.

Okay, maybe I'll give it a shot. I can see the screenwriter has some good past dramas (and I've seen people raving about Twinkling Watermelon), though all the first 5 recommended dramas under Chicago Typewriter have endings that ruined my day... 😭 Thanks for the rec!

I have a doubt. How did she get those clothes that fit her when she was on the island?
The island portion of this drama is the "fantasy" portion of this story (like the fantasy elements of Pinnochio, I Can Hear Your Voice and While You Were Sleeping). I don't think the screenwriter was ever going for 100% realistic, though she does give something of an explanation by saying that trash washed up on the island all the time as BluSeaMermaid pointed out and Tune above. :) If you notice she'll have mismatched socks and rain boots and string to keep her pants/trousers up, etc.

Please Korea, stop making these rubbish scripts with stalkers and persecutors, your dramas lose quality and become…
I don't think most rom-com Cdramas set in modern day have dark characters or plots. You could try some of those. 😏 Hidden Love and When I Fly Towards You were cute, well-written, fluffy rom-coms!

is kiho bo geul? or is he someone different? I'm wondering if he lived or not I'm only on ep 2
Do you want to be spoiled or just encouraged that everything will turn out okay? 😏 That said, your questions will be answered if you keep watching. They drop hints throughout (there are also some red herrings) but you know for sure what happened to Ki Ho by Episode 6. I can give more specific answers if you want, but I didn't want to spoil you. :)

Yeah, Bridal Mask is old, so before those sets were probably built. Though I did see a drama (My Perfect Stranger) that used the same set stage for the downtown and I thought, "Oh NO, not this set! It looks so fake!" 😭 I haven't seen Chicago Typewriter cause it's a sad ending, yes? I was scarred from Mr. Sunshine cause I had no idea about the ending. 😭

I was in love the minute I heard it. 😍 I'm a sucker for sweet melodies/instrumentation and the lyrics didn't disappoint, either.

Yes, I'll lurk on this page to see if I should give it a shot! It looks intriguing, and you're right, the time period is unique. I've wondered if they rarely do this time period because it probably costs more due to the sets (they have all those permanent Joseon period villages and palaces which make that time period much easier)? There were things I loved about The Bridal Mask (which was set during the same time or thereabouts) but in addition to the slightly cringey overacting at times, the sets were dreadful. It felt like a stage play. 🤦‍♀️

Like Today Is Our Last Day (Acoustic Version) is the song for Ran Joo's mom. They don't have the just hummed version,…
Episode 11. It's really nice. :) Ran Joo gives a preview of it in Episode 10, then we get it from start to finish twice in 11 (one version hummed, one with lyrics).

Ah, I'm sad! The rating went down to 8.5. 😭 This is so much better than most 8.5 dramas... *sigh* I was okay with 8.6 because that's at least higher than average, but 8.5 makes it look like a mid drama. 😓

The synopsis is a little misleading about the focus, guys! Episode 1 shows who the leads are and more of the tone and focus of the entire drama. It's more about the cost (and beauty) of sacrificing for those you love. Please don't give it a low score just because it doesn't align with the synopsis in the way you expect. (And notice the "difficult childhood tag.")
